Lamia
My point phart was purely that you both analyse information to extraordinary levels. Whether you like it or not you share this trait. I was being bundled in with FE just cos we are a couple - there is a difference.
Flora MaDonald
Craig Murray's take on things. www.craigmurray.org.uk Well, he's right. Splattered all over North Britain on Sunday's front page.
thplinth
Not sure why the need to drag me into it but the reasoning is not right either. phart is the one who should be a professional researcher somewhere. I got deep into 'the subject' for a while out of genuine curiosity but now rely on my feel for it, things change but they stay the same. Also making you even more wrong I also have an uneasy feeling about Murray. He could be a spook or he could be like Galloway, talented but ultimately damaging to issues he embraces... He is eccentric and that is often a spook cover, hard to say, but the fact this has already been damaging for the SNP makes you wonder. Lamia
Not sure why the need to drag me into it Just because of past experience discussing stuff with you thats all Both of you have worn me down and the only TAMBers to have ever done that
Scunnered
With the SNP's bizarre declaration when joining the party, I wouldn't be surprised if they are blocking candidates for having a grain of integrity. But, on the plus side it's another stick for me to beat the absolute looney that is the local SNP convener around here. SaintlyScots soulmate that one... FuNsTeR
I understand why the Snp are doing this 2 Snp MSPs resigned after they changed their policy towards nato membership .... quite simply they don't want another incident like this happening again

First of all the question asked has no bearing as it is a ridiculous scenario. The party and it's 100,000 members would have to agree on such a policy which would never happen Surely what the question tries to fathom is if the majority of the party and membership agree on a certain policy or strategy would the individual who has been elected to carry that through in parliament go against it

Flora MaDonald
It's a phuqqing nonsense: "So, Flora. Would you be a unionist if the party said it was good?" Ridiculous.

Edit: I disagree with the above. There is a difference between sticking by a policy that you were elected on the back of, and having to follow a policy that you disagree with which the party hierarchy has decided to follow. FuNsTeR
How does that sit with you? I assume you're a member? it was a hypothetical question asked the Snp were against Bedroom tax from day 1 ... the question could easily have been about trident ffs ... it was to see if he would show party loyalty
Scunnered
it was to see if he would show party loyalty That's the bit I was referring to. How does that sit with you?
FuNsTeR
That's the bit I was referring to. How does that sit with you? as I said after the 2 resignations after the nato vote I understand it ... but after reading the sunday herald piece it reeks of sour grapes ... maybe the panel didn't like his attitude and his reaction to his non selection seems to highlight this .... also he was given a right to appeal this decision ... he obviously thought he could turn up and automatically be made a preferred candidate
Ally Bongo
In the world of democracy you have to accept some things you dont 100% agree with However if there was something so controversial then i would resign as would thousands of others i would imagine, which is why it wont happen
phart
Not sure what the problem was the SNP were happy to let their elected members vote against creating some parity of rights for gay couples. So not sure why bedroom tax is such a problem. Fergus Ewing. and Roseanna Cunningham come to mind.
ParisInAKilt
The more I get into politics the more I realise how ####ed up it and the world is. I'm an SNP member and probably agree they are the best party for Scotland but unfortunately I don't think there will ever be a party capable of being elected that really reflect my views, independent or not. Lamia
That's the bit I was referring to. How does that sit with you? I think if the majority of the party agree on a policy that you disagree with that strongly on a point of principle you have to resign otherwise you end up like the Socialist Parties. But the circumstances would be different in many cases and sometimes differences would be ok and people could vote against without there being any problem - it really does depend on many factors Edited December 28, 2014 by Lamia

scoobydoo
I saw this earlier today and thought that it would come out as some sort of stupid headline from labour. I disagree with the snp part y line here and think they should have some free thinkers in their lineup. it must also be remembered that anyone in the SNP with half a brain will already be in holyrood and there will be some complete fuikwits at westminster.
