Cameron V Salmond?

Recommended Posts

Could it be on?

Cameron in PMQs today says he tried to agree a date for a debate with STV, "but they seemed to run away"

Surely he can't say he won't agree to a debate now?? Sky, BBC, STV, anyone - make this happen.

Landslide for Yes!

- absolutely no need to be taking gambles IMO.

Fair enough, but I don't think it's much of a gamble...

This is David Cameron coming up to Scotland, telling Scots they should let him run their affairs!

A straight fight between Salmond and Cameron isn't the way they go about winning back momentum. Makes absolutely no sense.

Makes sense if they have no other option (which they don't).

Everyone expected Salmond to wipe the floor with Darling in the first debate, and he didn't. The Nawbags might be willing to risk sending Cameron up as a last throw of the dice.

They do have another option though and that's not to send Cameron. IMO, even listening to Cameron is a vote loser for No. Even if Cameron somehow won, there's not many in Scotland who wouldn't grudge voting for an Etonian Tory.

If Cameron enters a TV debate with Salmond, they're trying to lose this.

Be interesting to see what STV say as maybe they think the media is in their hands so much, they tried to make it out like Just call me dave wanted it, but STV Scotland pulled it, so Not daves fault, No idea really as agree with Auld Reekie, if they put cameron up will be like they are trying to lose it

I meant have no other option to win back momentum.

Maybe it's their hail-mary pass/gamble button/nuclear option?

INDY REF: Cameron programme still on the table

Following comments from David Cameron at today's Prime Minister's questions, STV denies it “ran away” from the programme and said the Downing Street proposal did not meet their requirements for full editorial control.

David Cameron referendum programme still on the table, says STV

STV says its offer of a programme putting the Prime Minister in front of undecided voters ahead of the independence referendum remains on the table. The statement from the broadcaster came as David Cameron claimed at Prime Minister's Questions on Wednesday that STV "ran away" from the idea of a referendum show with him.

The only way Dave will debate at this stage is if they have a particularly strong ace card to announce during the debate in an attempt to make a big bang that would be expected to put Yes on the back foot.

Definitely

Not worth the gamble

Momentum will be with Yes till the 18th ...let sleeping dogs lie etc
