If he had avoided injuries and played in one of the recent tournaments, or we had qualified for Euro 2008 (or continued that form into World 2010 qualifiers and made it) Gordon would go down as number 1

Goram and Leighton both in my lifetime aswell but I dont think either were are good as Gordon. 

That being said, for somebody that trained most days for 25 odd years, Gordons lack of ability to kick a football always amazed me.

I couldn't split Leighton and goram, they were on a par for me. The Sweden match in 95 at Ibrox was definitely the Jim Leighton game. He was unreal that day

What we would give for a prime Goram, Gordon, Leighton or McGregor now...

Yip that's the bit that makes Gordon rank lower IMO. He was weaker than the others mentioned with the ball at his feet, and his distribution wasn't the best. Andy Goram could throw a ball further than Craig Gordon could kick it.

I'm not convinced that goal by Czechia was all Marshall's fault. He had been told to play higher up the park when we had the ball to play the sweeper role like other teams do. Another occasion where we tried something for the first time at a tournament when we hadn't really practiced it before. 

In that respect it probably would have been better if Gordon had been in goal, because no manager in his right mind would even think of trying that if Gordon was the keeper.

I probably edge for Leighton. Part of that might be Aberdeen tinted glasses and a dislike of Goram pulling out of squads in 96 / 98 qualifiers. Leighton coming in and playing a blinder like Sweden 95 at Ibrox and being baffled by him not starting at Euro 96 as a result.

My memory of Leighton was also being very poor with the ball at his feet and distribution in general. I would argue Gordon was better at it than Leighton

Goram was the best I've seen, closely followed by Gordon...with Leighton and McGregor 3rd and 4th
