Unsure if this thread was already started?!

4 goals for Robbie Ure last night in Sirius’ 4-4 draw. They’re top of the table by about 10 points and he’s flying.

6’2 and obviously a great finisher. Let’s get him called up.

It's started now! No better way to start Scottish players in action than a Scottish striker getting four goals!

I'm getting way way way ahead of myself, but I'm hoping this season ushers in the new wave of strikers. If Bowie, B.Stewart and Ure maintain or improve upon their form, then we could see an almost complete overhaul of the striking department by Euro 2028.

I doubt the new manager is going to stand for non-scoring strikers, when there are some waiting in the wings.

Such is the way for Scotland that we’ll end up with a glut of strikers, goalies and centre backs but no fullbacks or midfielders at all.

Agreed. It's time for a fresh start all around.

A new coach with a new approach and new set of players perhaps a couple of new centre-backs, a new midfielder or two and a new set of strikers. Play on the front foot and give it a go.

A couple more wingers to supplement Gannon Doak and Curtis would be useful too, for getting the ball to them - would be good if Mebude and Lawrence kick on.

Hopefully Mebude can carry on where he left off last season. Seemed to be settled in and playing well at a high level.

For Lawrence a loan/transfer to championship level or higher would be great

I didn't and don't often defend Clarke but Ure was nowhere when the team were qualifying. It would have been a huge call for him to jump ahead of the likes of Bowie who is one step further along, career wise. Dykes and Hirst shouldn't have gone imo.

There is nothing to lose if a new manager calls up Ure, Bowie and Stewart should be called up to the next squad. Id keep Adams on the go as he plays at a reasonable level and has decent experience but the rest I'm a bit Meh about now

20 years old, well over 50 career appearances and almost 50 at championship level, 1 in 2 goal involvements per game last season. Absolutely clubs should be looking at him. He’d be a terrific pickup for most prem clubs IMO, he still has plenty room to get considerably better.

Daniel Armer is currently involved with Man Uniteds first team for pre season, being the lack of CBs coming through this is the sort of player we need to be getting involved sooner rather than later.

If he gets any gametime at all for the first team, as we saw with Fletcher, he’ll be fast-tracked to the full squad. As it stands he doesn’t even have an u21 cap though. There is an argument we could get these guys involved before they reach their club first teams but those of us a bit longer in the tooth will remember all the ‘wonder kids’ who went into absolutely no career at all (Robbie Foy anyone!).

Yes but is safeguarding them so to speak or tying them down. Okay they may stink the place out if brought on for the last minutes of a Nations League game but who cares? We have many fully-fledged internationals who have done that and it hasn't cost us a thing.

Don't think Clarke ever capped anyone to get them tied down ( why not bring Fletcher on for last few minutes against Brazil?) but a new manager might with some youngsters ( Wales and Ireland have done it for years) . Would rather they earned their place in training but.....

Teams rarely get selected now on pure form. Places in sides (as seen with Clarke and others) can be won due to loyalty or trust above any real club form.

I think this needs to change - within reason. There's a fine line between avoiding mass call offs through good squad harmony and continuity and just getting stagnant and pish. It's not an easy job finding that balance but winning makes the whole process much easier.
