The fact he stated that he's played for us at times when he's only been 30% fit highlighted a big a problem. Certain players being played regardless of how unfit or out of form they are. There were plenty of times he clearly shouldn't have been playing and the coaching team should have known that. I think 30% might be an exaggeration. I’m not sure what that measurement is based on. In the grand scheme of things with a manager with the number of clubs and matches under his belt a couple of promotions with Norwich City isn’t much. A lot more than most managers granted Less than a 30% win rate with Aston Villa is shockingly bad Quote

Managers that get promotions to the epl are the level we are at when it comes to choosing a Scotland manager. We don't pay enough to be getting any better calibre of manager. Quote

Yes they were in the epl at that time. I think alot of teams who battle relegation would have a win rate around that level. It equates to around 12 wins a season. You add in a good few draws of say 7 or 8 then you end up avoiding relegation which is what Lambert ended up doing. Edited June 29 by mccaughey85 Quote
SWMM82 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Imagine we even considered a coach who has failed miserably at u21 level. I wouldn’t put it past the SFA bigwigs though. Quote

The fact they still employ Gemmill at any level at all despite years and years of failure is astonishing enough, so there's nothing to suggest they wouldn't offer him a promotion. 11 minutes ago, Lawrie74 said: Michael O'Neil current NI manager.SFA approached him 2018 which he said wasn't the right time.Would they go back in for him ? It wouldn't surprise me to see them go back to someone who'd previously knocked them back! To his credit, O'Neil once got Norn Iron to a tournament and through to the knockout stages, but I still don't think he'd be any better than Clarke. He plays a similar brand of anti-football anyway. O'Neil would have been a great appointment back in 2018 but we need something different now. Quote
vanderark14 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Its has to be someone better than Clarke not worse or the same, therefore O'Neil should not be considered. Thats what should happen but as the SFA were actually happy with the way things were going, expect them to look for a Clarke clone Quote

We needed someone that could organize mid-table SPFL standard players to stand in the right place. Now we need someone that is able to organize and inspire players that are used to coaching from Conte, Iriola, Emery, Klopp etc Quote
