Hearts got what they deserved though. Very sloppy and wasteful once they went ahead.

I was behind the goal & it looked like a jambo player hand balled the ball as the cross came in prior to the goal.

Aberdeen were poor, hearts weren’t much better but the ref Dickenson was abysmal, if he’s a top ref Infantino’s an honest guy.

Maybe they’re hoping the reverse fixture might live up to the height of 2010

If that game was at a lower you’d have to question if Graeme Smith was up to something, Iv seen some calamitous goalkeeping performances from Hibs down the years but one takes some beating

Agreed. One of the things that stuck out to me was how poor the ref was. Nothing that will hit the headlines as it didnt lead to goals but just a series of really poor calls.

He was just generally poor & inconsistent in his decisions, flounced about the middle area’s of the pitch & don’t think he broke sweat at all.

Thought Motherwell still looking quite good today, despite losing players & manager from last season. 

Hibs looking awful, mid table mediocrity beckons, if we're lucky (5th to 8th). If it remains bad then possibly even lower 😱

Hibs were a fucking disgrace again today. The 4 new signings Kerr, Lowe, Mayor and Abdulai added hee-haw Barney McGraw to the team 

Like clockwork a nonsensical substitution was made around the hour mark

Hibs look like a side coached by a manager who is only there because of his playing status at the club.

Hibs should be one of the top 3 sought after managerial roles outiside of the OF. 

I really struggle to comprehend how Hibs and Aberdeen and up until recently Hearts, cant obtain any level of stability or consistency. People always point towards the budget of the OF and they are correct. Its almost impossible to bridge that gap but the 3 aforementioned clubs reguarly finish below clubs with a fraction of their budget.

I don’t know. Rangers are doing a pretty good job of bridging an OF budget with the non OF teams!

Yup the “3rd” biggest teams in Scotland should really be finishing 3rd 4th and 5th every season, I’d imagine the stats on that for the last 25 years are pretty damming

All 3 teams have either been relegated or finished in the relegation places in fairly recent seasons. 

I would be surprised if that was replicated across any other league in Europe where the 3rd to 5th biggest teams in the country have all been effectively relegated in last 15 years.

The one thing that stands out from this four day ‘opening day’ is that the standard of Scottish football is in the absolute shitter. I mean, you could maybe give Motherwell a pass and possibly St Johnstone? But the rest? Dearie fuck! 🙈

I watched every game and attended one, Motherwell weren’t great either just caught Hibs on the counter when we were pushing for a winner. Agreed the standard of the games was mostly honking

Fair enough, I only saw bits of it. I’m getting pretty close to the stage where I won’t even bother watching this shite on the TV, Celtic included. As funny as last season was the dross served up to fans of all clubs in general is absolutely disgraceful.
