Stadium Travel Feedback

Hi folks, we're over for the Morocco game - how did the trains/buses/ubers get on yesterday?  Watched loads of YT and Twitter videos, atmosphere looks top class and anthem was bouncing on fan videos, way more than BBC.

It was a total shambles for us! We took the train from South Station. Waited 1.5 hours in the sweltering sun before boarding the train. 

There was a huge crush to get in the stadium. Not sure how many gates were open but the closer we got, the more people crushed. Everyone around us was saying the same. I asked some Americans if it was normal and they said nope, total shambles. 

if you are getting the train, leave the match 20 minutes early or you will have a 2 hour wait. The place is not fit to host a tournament of this magnitude. The queses to get in all of the eating places was an absolute joke. 

Once in getting food/drink was easy enough and the stadium is amazing. My advice would be go as early as possible.

Sounds just like Munich

It trumped being kept in the ground for over two hours in Athens in terms of worst experiences I’ve had as a football supporter. An hour and a half queueing before the game to get onto the train and well over two hours after the game, around an hour queueing to get into the ground too. Didn’t get in until 3am last night. 
 

Feel like all I’ve done in Boston is queue; akin to everything costing a tenner in Oslo.

Rally bus worked perfectly left on time both ways and didn’t take as long as being in queue for train by the sound of it. Own seat and beers. 
Usual couple dickheads who can’t tell when friendly banter becomes aggressive intimidation.

Used Boston Common Coaches to get to and from the ground. They were absolutely excellent, got us there about 3.5 hours before the game and we headed to the stadium about 2 hours before kick off. Left around an hour after the game ended and took about 40 mins back up to Boston. An hour should have been plety to get back to the parking spot, but we got turned around coming out of the place, went the wrong way and ended up getting caught in the rush of folk heading to the station. Cut it a bit fine in the end, but made it just in time.

Getting into the stadium was a bit of a mess, why they don't have a dedicated access to their walled off "fan zone" at each pedestrian access point is beyond me, it would have made getting in much easier.

Very poor at directing people to the correct point, even a real lack of information as to what part of the stadium you should head to depending on where your ticket is for.

No complaints at all about Rally buses or their subcontractors, or the school buses and the heroes organising them.

I will however appreciate getting to and from full-house Hampdens more in future!

I’ve no idea, I didn’t use buses, supporters, corporation buses or otherwise in Germany. I was duped by the German efficiency myth, aided by the fact it was included in your match brief

Id happily have paid a premium in Germany if it meant I got from A to B in a timely and stress free manner

It was so bad after Munich and to a lesser extent Cologne I ended up paying over the odds for a hotel within 10-15 minutes walking distance of the stadium in Stuttgart

Mike Tevans School buses were fricking superb!  brilliant time on the bus both games and got us back in good time to Boston.  Guy is a legend.   

p.s Bus 1 is Dynamite.

Was a bit worried about the train journeys after seeing some of the stories from the Haiti game, but they went really smoothly. Clearly improvements were made.

(Still not worth 80 bucks though).
