Probably go with the team from tonight but with mcginn instead of Christie.

Maybe Hanley could be replaced by souttar or McKenna.

BGD must start.

Same except I’d play Christie instead of ferguson.

I think we are gonna need to be physically strong at the back against Haiti so I would pick Hanley and McKenna

Then from tonight’s lineup swap out Christie for McGinn

If Clarke picks Gunn when Gordon was the keeper who got us there, I will be seriously unimpressed. Given that is why he picked Marshall in Euro 2020, and then he dropped Gordon from the squad in 2024.

Gunn played in most of our qualifying games.

I think it has to be Gunn that starts.

I think we need to prioritise pace over power against Haiti. They're a quick counter attacking team. That's why i'd pick Hendry over Hanley

Doak McTominay Ferguson McGinn

Shankland Adams

I think this is most likely given we have played 442 in the last 2 games. Slightly harsh on Christie as he was motm last week and didn't do too much wrong yesterday. It's going to be a squad game so there will be plenty game time for the subs. If going with the above, you'd think Robertson or mcginn will have to play 90 min as both forwards will likely Abe subbed along with BDG and Hickey.

Christie instead of BDG wouldn't surprise me but his performance yesterday has probably forced himself in.

Gordon or Gunn (I prefer Gordon but not much in it).

RB and LB pick themselves. I wouldn't mind seeing Hendry & McKenna as Souttar seems rusty. Not sure about Hanley.

Christie linked up well with Robertson but was also quite wasteful on occasion. Plus, I want McGinn in the team. The rest of the midfield stays the same.

Up front would be Shanks and one of Adams/Dykes.

I think Hirst has played himself out of contention. I didn't see enough of Stewart.

I don't expect Fletcher to play at all in the WC unless it’s two minutes to tie him down. I wasn’t convinced by him tonight.

Hirst puts in an effort but apart from his performance against Ivory Coast he's not convinced me. I thought both Stewart and Fletcher would have benefitted from more minutes on the pitch.

I think shankland and Adams(to a lesser extent) have proven themselves as the strikers who will start and sadly for hirst and Stewart they will only get small cameos near the end of games. Dykes will probably see serious gametime due to being a Clarke favourite over his tenure.

It's a shame because Stewart could probably have been given more of a chance to prove himself but we can only start 1 or 2 strikers and certain players have to miss out.

This with Christie and Tierney coming on with fresh legs later

Whatever the formation, these 8 players should be starting: McTominay, McGinn, Gannon-Doak, Hickey, Robertson, Shankland, Tierney, McKenna

Fuck knows how if Clarke is determined to play 2 strikers.

It’s the right thing to do in a must win game against weaker opponents.

Agree with others, same team as tonight with McGinn coming in for Christie/Ferguson. It will be 433.

Interesting that we had Curtis and BGD on together for part of the game. Looking at playing two wide men? 🤔

I think so, but there will be plenty of subs used in these games. I don’t think BGD will play the full 90, more like 70 with Curtis coming on and probably McGinn switching to the right. McLean, Christie, Dykes and Hirst are almost guaranteed minutes in all the games. I’m not totally convinced it will be 4-4-2 from the start, so one of Shankland or Adams may not start, with McTominay supporting the striker and Christie or McLean starting alongside Ferguson.

Agreed on Hirst, just don't see what he brings and had a possible chance but hopeless ball control.

Can't really judge Fletcher in this match as only on for less than 10 minutes when everyone else is just playing out time.

The big decision Clarke has to make is who plays at centre back.

I have always liked Hendry so wouldn't mind him getting the nod but souttar hasn't done anything wrong imo and doesn't deserve to be dropped.

Hanley has done well for us in qualifying but his club career is well in decline.

I think Mckenna would be my choice with either souttar or Hendry as a partner.

I see Clarke sticking with Hanley though.

I'm not saying playing 2 strikers is wrong, just that I don't know how Clarke plans on fitting all our best players into the same team.

If Shankland is 1 of the 2 strikers, I'll be happy. If we sacrifice one of our best players to play Dykes and Adams together, I'll not be pleased at all.
