Hertsscot Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Slightly different to Fairbairn's transfer thread though there's an overlap. I know the season has just ended but how do people feel about the upcoming one and who they think will be stronger. I think only Celtic fans can look forward to being better. They'll have cash from the Champions League and surely can't be as poor as last season. Schmeichel has retired but wasn't great last season. Obviously a lot will depend who they get in as manager and they'll miss Maeda if he goes. Rangers need to get recruitment but have made a positive start with buying Shankland. The rest. I think Dundee may do well and I think Aberdeen will be more stable. I worry about Hearts, Falkirk and Motherwell. They've all had great seasons but I worry about whether they'll be able to replace key players (or manager in Motherwell's case). So, are you optimistic about your club for next season? Quote
DoonTheSlope Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Celtic almost had their fingers burnt this season. If I was a Celtic fan I’d be confident the biscuit tin mentality has been kicked down the road a bit for now Hearts are a funny one. History shows that teams outwith the old firm struggle with the demands of European football but unlike Romanov who never really had a plan other than to throw the Lithuanian pension money at Hearts I fear Tony Bloom is the real deal. His Belgian side and Brighton are testament to that Hibs are odd one. Last seasons point total was only 1 shy off the previous season where the plaudits were coming in from all angles. However too many fans were obsessed with Hearts that clouded Hibs season. If they can see a half out without gifting silly goals from 40-45/85-90 minutes and hold onto 2-0 leads then it woulve been a great season just past. If they rectify those though then I’ll go with 4th a minimum expectation for me. A goalkeeper is a must though for a start Aberdeen without European football will be stronger and a shoe in for top 6 As for Rangers, well we can all laugh just now but just wait until this takeover happens… Quote

The season just gone wasn't bad but feels a bit of a let down, not only because of Hearts success but because the second half of the previous season definitely raised expectations. Quote
