I wouldn't mind if he went back out on loan to Barnet in league 2 for another season. Might be a low level of football but it's good experience and he plays every week.

People will still argue that awarding points for home games doesn’t manipulate the points ladder though

Noticed that.Was thinking originally that there would be 40000+ or so at the game.Not quite so sure now.Being a Saturday there are bound to be lots of kids there though.

Gordon, Robertson, McKenna, Hyam, Hickey, Gilmour, Ferguson, McGinn, McTominay, Diak, Shankland

Thats how I would start tomorrow. Swapping Tierney and Patterson for full backs at half time.

Would give everybody else 60 mins then make changes from there.

I think we need to balance keeping players wrapped in cotton wool and getting them ready for the 1st game.

I have grim memories of McGinn like a ferret chasing a rabbit in the last 5 minutes of the previous pre-tournament farewell match at Hampden and then failing to turn up 3 weeks later. He's ready now and will be ready in 3 weeks as long as he's not flogged to death in the interim.

I'm concerned that clubs have not been ready/willing to commit two or three of our players yet.   So responsibility has been passed to Scotland to get them back to the field.

i.e. clubs will pick up insurance from us if their shoogly assets crumble?   Yes, I am quite cynical.

Won't mind a couple of players being rested, especially given the worn-out looking Euros build up.

McGinn went into the Euros overweight and unfit. 

If we dont play him for 3 weeks it does him no good.

If we play a 2nd string team then it does us no good. Especially if we put in poor performances and get beat.

Pre tournament friendlies are always a balance us getting the main players time on the pitch to get in tune with each other, keep their game fitness ticking over and trying to not pick up injuries.

The games shouldnt be played in a way with hefty challenges so any injury will be either muscles or just plain unfortunete. The type that could happen in any training session.

No country in the world cup wont play their star players in the warm up.

45 to 60 mins is enough to tick all the boxes.

Tomorrow’s game isn’t during a FIFA international window so clubs would be well within their rights not to release players for tomorrows game

Thankfully they've not or the game would've had to have been played on Monday night at the earliest.

When the fixture was announced there was an outside chance we might lose a player or two due to the Champions League final, but that hasn't come to pass.

McGinn's just had a Europa League final and then a big EPL match. He can play versus Bolivia. No need for him to participate in this. Same for McTominay.

Clubs are investing millions of pounds into their assets who will be featuring today and they are well within their rights to make sure that those assets are protected

The issue here is the SFA and FFK organising a match outwith the official FIFA calendar
