I can’t see a specific thread for this weekends game so thought I’d take the liberty of starting one

It'll be interesting to see who he goes for in goals considering the 3 goalkeepers he’s picked have amassed a grand total of 7 appearances between them this season 

I don’t expect their to be too many changes in personnel elsewhere in the team as per his tenure in charge

I see from the home game sub forum on here and on social media another one of those bugs is going around that only ever seem to appear in the lead up to an international window judging by the amount of tickets looking to be punted. I hope whatever it is isn't catching

Goalkeeper-wise I see either Gordon playing V Curacao and Gunn playing V Bolivia or vice versa to maximise their preparation. If one of them plays both games that tells us who is going to be No 1 at the World Cup.

Yeh that would be a huge indicator if one of them plays both games. I would go with Gunn but it's a tough decision. We need to keep Gunn happy as well as our options would be brutal if he decided to chuck it after this world cup.

I wouldn't worry, he's only 30, so there is next to no chance he'll retire after the WC. He's well aware of the lack of depth in his position, so he's probably thinking/expecting her can get up towards 50 caps (21 caps now) before a series challenger might appear.

Yeh but if he takes the huff then we would be up shit creek. I know ppl in here might say fuck him but we really cant afford to lose him until a decent alternative comes through.

I cannot see him chucking it considering where his club career is at present. He needs Scotland more than ever and I reckon he will be delighted to just be involved in a World Cup regardless considering how his season has gone.

I believe Clarke said some players will be excused from this game. I’d imagine that would be Tierney, McGinn, McTominay, Adams, and maybe Ferguson.

McTominay is currently in Ibiza, so can't see him feature. 

Looking forward to this, taking along my 2, 4, 5 and 6 year old nieces and nephews for their first Scotland game. They've been to Rugby Park but different ball game with 40,000+ there!

Definitely. Gannon-Doak replaced by Ross Stewart after an hour. Hickey replaced by Patterson on the hour mark.

I think they need minutes in their legs as a priority. I’d be giving them 80 minutes. Same for the Bolivia game. They are unlikely to have a good tournament in their current condition, so risks must be taken to get them up to speed.

I'll be shocked if Gordon starts on Saturday. Indication from Clarke is that he's not fit yet and there's still a decent chance he won't make it in time for the World Cup.

Barring injury, Gunn will be in goals against Haiti.

Hmm that's not as I understand it. During the squad announcement he stated goalkeeping coach Chris Woods observed Gordon in a full work-out and declared him fit.

I think it's to Gordon's credit that he hasn't called time on his international career, considering his age, considering he was left out of the Euros squad (slightly unfairly, IMO) and how he probably knows he's unlikely to be first choice in the US.

I noticed that Chris Brady got called up for the USA squad. Probably won't get gametime but it means it's unlikely he will playing for us in the future. 

We desperately need another decent keeper to pick from once Gordon goes and I am not sure theres any on the horizon.

Gunn will be our number 1 for the foreseeable.
We’ll likely have a period of the likes of Kelly, Bain, McCracken as backups. 
Maybe Slicker will end up playing at a decent level.

Hopefully the likes of McKenna & Mahady go on to be decent keepers for by the time Euro 32 qualifiers come around as Gunn will be done by then

Yeah that’s one area of concern for me post WC.
