exile Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Just for fun, we could track SPFL players in action at the World Cup. I thought I'd make a start on identifying them it as it may take some time to track them all. Who will get most minutes? Most goals and assists? Who will go furthest? Nicolas Raskin (Rangers & Belgium [FIFA rank 9])(Group G) Daizen Maeda (Celtic & Japan [18])(Group F) Yang Hyun-jun (Celtic & South Korea [25]) (Group A) Benjamin Nygren (Celtic & Sweden [38])(Group F) Sebastian Tounekti (Celtic & Tunisia [44])(Group F) Aaron Tshibola (Kilmarnock & DR Congo [46]) (Group K) Dario Naamo (Dundee United & Iraq [57])(provisional)(Group I) Eli Just (Motherwell & New Zealand [85])(Group G) [Scotland FIFA rank 43] To be continued... exile Posted Tuesday at 08:34 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:34 PM (edited) Cameron Devlin (Heart of Midlothian) made it into the Australia squad, but Martin Boyle didn't, apparently pipped by two uncapped younger players. Turns out Dario Naamo - who was in the provisional Iraqi squad - didn't make it into the final squad. Edited Tuesday at 08:34 PM by exile Quote
exile Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Tete Yengi scored on his debut for Australia against Switzerland, last night. I understand Yengi is a Livingston player, although has been on loan to Japanese side Machida Zelvia. But if technically he is a Livvy player in the Championship, then could be interesting, if he were to score or even play in a World Cup game, how many Scottish Championship players could say that? Meanwhile, Elijah Just played in New Zealand's narrow loss to England last night. Quote
