The Road Trip Test : What’s the Most Comfortable Ride You have Ever Had?

I just got back from a pretty long haul and it really hit me how much a cars interior can make or break your mood by hour five. I used to think as long as the AC worked, I was fine, but after sitting in a seat that actually had decent lumbar support for once, I realized why I usually feel so wrecked after a trip. It was not just the seat, though the cabin was actually quiet enough that I didn't have to crank my music to drown out the road noise which kept me from getting that typical 'driving fatigue.' It’s got me wondering: are you guys Team SUV or Team Sedan for the long stuff? For me, having that extra legroom to stretch out is starting to feel way more important than how the car actually looks on the outside

7-seat estate before people carriers were a thing.   He had a lot of kids 😄   The interior was forgettable, but with all that glass you were looking at the scenery.   Just comfy when French cars had the best ride.

Just come back from a 3000 mile euro road trip in an Audi TTS that I bought a few months ago. Did the trip over 10 days, not once did I feel uncomfortable driving. Cant say the same for some pretty high end cars I've had on big euro trips in the past. Seats are superb

I think it's a different experience of comfort for passengers compared to drivers 

Are you really supposed to be that comfortable as a driver these days ? 

However it would take a lot to beat this

My dad had a few, last one was a V8 in tobacco leaf with a brown vinyl roof.  Steering wheel wasn't much thicker than my pinkie and it was as heavy as a tank to drive. However, I remember it fondly.....
