I presume many fans will be like me having applied for tickets and booked flights in the hope they got tix only to disappointed.  I have 13 points and thought I’d get them but hey ho!

Thought I’d start a thread if anyone has flights to sell if they ultimately decide not to go having booked flights.

Might save fans a few bob rather than trying to hunt Skyscanner for a flight that costs a small mortgage.

I’ve got two adult flights leaving Dublin Fri 12th June at 16.45 returning Sat 20th June at  21.25. €1224.38, think it’s about €100 per name to change name on flights.

if you’re interested let me know. I’m not prepared to travel without tickets.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you miss out on tickets with 13 points? I’m on the same points threshold as you and got tickets for all 3 group games. Surprised to see a fellow 13 pointer miss out when folk on 12 points have been able to get Brazil tickets.

Better watch Craig Fae Hamilton doesn't appear questioning your choices 😂

So it’s true that 11 pointers were getting tickets that should have been going to 12+ pointers

Who was responsible for this? Accountability needs to be apportioned and dealt with accordingly

That is the complete antithesis of the ethos that the revamped SSC was created for

I think because I wasn’t willing to go to the top tier and give those robbing FIFA bams. I selected the second highest tier. Had no email but logged into FIFA ticket application and it said unsuccessful.

I think people on 13 points didn’t fill the form in correctly

I have two of us on 13, my mate has two on 12 we all applied for the second top tier and zilch.

Sorry to here that but if you followed the advice on this board by ‘Souness’ who is quite accurate with his information then by choosing which category he said depending on which points you or party have then all in your party were all unofficially guaranteed a ticket depending on which category you could afford.

I know I followed his advice having to change my cat selections several times to maximise my chance of tickets (I’m in 14 points).

Unsure of whether this was the case or not; however, if you had more than 12 and didn't get tickets then, as someone else said, you obviously didn't choose the right category.

You had no chance of second top tier

Fair enough but no way I was paying £500 to watch a game of fitba to line FIFA’s pockets

I rationalised the ticket prices relative to flight costs and hotel costs in Boston (where you're generally looking at £500 a night, though I managed to find something half that).

It just too expensive for me. Shame but I was willing to spend so much, but not that much.

Anyway - on the flights; I haven’t yet booked return from Florida so would be interested to hear what others might be selling round about the 26th…

£500 a ticket is expensive but if you divide that out over all the World cups we missed out on over the years then it’s not that much. Add to that it might be another 30 years before we reach another World Cup. I honestly think if you have flights booked then just go and you never know you may well pick a ticket up closer to the time.

At the euros I gave two young lads from Aberdeen tickets to the Switzerland match about an hour before kick off as I couldn’t be arsed trying to sell them.

You are right

It takes a type of madness to fork out £500 for a ticket to watch Scotland

It is completely unjustifiable no matter how folk try to spin it

£500 to see Scotland at the World Cup in Boston isnt peanuts but It cost me over £100 to take my kid to watch Nottingham Forest a few weeks ago. These things are all getting more expensive.

Totally appreciate that over a cumulative time period. I just can’t fathom how the opening game of the Euros is €100 and a match against Haiti is €500. Plus I’ll have my student lad who is now 18 to pay for. That’s €2000 for both games before I even leave Ayrshire.

Anyhow just posted to see if anyone wants the flights as they were at least a fair price.

How much have the points folk have gathered up to the maximum of 32 (?) cost them - £500 per point on average?

That's £16k, if so

So, if someone isn't bothered with experiencing qualifiers/friendlies anymore, I can understand why paying FIFA's prices at the competition stage isn't so much of a big deal for those types 🤷‍♂️

I'm not defending the pricing BTW, simply trying to look at it from a different perspective.....

£500 per point? Are they flying Business class to away trips?

I’m on 30 points, probably spent less than half that…

Absolutely. Number of away matches I've been to = 2 and not in the current series. Have saved a fortune only going to home matches and buying cat 1 tournament tickets.
