Title race hotting up as East Kilbride go top, albeit Spartans have two games in hand. Clyde also win to keep up pressure.

And check out three teams on 27 points just a win off a play-off place. At least seven teams with a realistic chance of getting something out the campaign.

Looking back, only 11 clubs ever won the championship; only six won it more than once, including Dumbarton.

And of the 11 who formed the first league, only 5 are still in the League.

I think (Sadly as a Clyde fan) that Kilby (EK) will win the league, after their mini slump after Christmas, Mick Kennedy & The Kean's splashed the cash on more players (after releasing quite a few)

We (Clyde) have two games in hand and have still to play the top two again, so a wee bit to go, if you look at the table it's the draws that have hurt us as we have lost the least amount of games in the league

If we go on a wee run (destroyed Stirling Albion at their place last night) and cut out the draws, then we still have a chance of winning the league. . . . . if not we need to go up via the play-off's

Yes there are still a lot of games to go. I thought maybe Spartans would still be slight favourites, even if they won one of their games in hand they would be top.

Do you know the likely strength of who play-off opposition from League One might be?

Looks like the League One playoff team will be one of Hamilton, Cove or Kelty Hearts. Without being overly familiar with the standard of League Two this season I'd back any of those teams to win against anyone finishing 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the league below.

My frame of reference for this is seeing all of the above mentioned teams playing against Stenny this season. Also, we played East Kilbride in the Challenge Cup and I thought they were woeful. Kennedy demanded they played it out from the back constantly even though their players were uncomfortable doing so. We took three goals off them just through pressing up when their keeper was taking a goal kick or had the ball at his feet.

Kilby have splashed the cash again, I think they will win the league (unfortunately) as Mick Kennedy & THe Keane's have plenty of cash to burn,  could also see them with the strongest squad in division one next season

It's almost a contradiction in what I have said, but the best footballing team we (Clyde) have played this season are Spartans as they are well drilled and are the fittest team in our league

It's any one of three teams (Clyde, EK or Spartans) that win the league, with probably Clyde the least favourite to do so, if we hadn't had so many draws, we would be well in the mix, a few twists and turns to go though, time will tell

Yeah, Spartans look a decent outfit. All the best to Clyde also for the rest of the season.

Tight at the top but also, most teams in the league still have a chance of reaching the play-offs

Just imagine if Edinburgh City never had their points deduction.

Oh yes I see what you eman. Did Dumbarton also have deduction? Then those two would have had 36 and 35 points, how mad would that be? Every team would be level with the final play-off spot, or 2 or 4 points below it. With 6 games to go.

Yeah Dumbarton got a 5 point deduction. Edinburgh City got 21. Take away those points deductions & you have the most close tight leagues in Europe.

In top of table clash yesterday, Spartans drew with East Kilbride.

Elgin City have leapfrogged Stranraer and Forfar to occupy the third playoff place.

I still reckon Kilby (EK) will win the league, with Clyde v Spartans &  any one of Stranraer / Forfar / Elgin v any one of Cove / Hamilton / Kelty in the playoff's

Clyde v Hamilton playoff final could be a bit on the tasty side, as we play at their old stadium and they play at our old stadium - would be a cracking crowd at that game should it arise

Clyde now confirmed as finishing 3rd, we will play either Spartans or Kilby in the playoff semi-final (would prefer Spartans), if we get through the semi, it's currently looking at final against Hamilton / Cove

I just noticed, Clyde in third has +20 goal difference, then it drops to 0 for fourth placed Forfar, then it's negative all the way down from there.

It looks as if theoretically even Annan in 7th could make the final play-off slot? Thought they'd need to overturn a -9 goal difference on Forfar, though they are still to play them, so in theory that could go some way to help swing the goal difference.

Yes it's been a bizarre league this season. . . . Clyde have lost the least amount of games, however it's the draws that done us, win even half of our drawn games and we win the league

Anyway let the playoffs and fun begin (and the stress) 🤣🤣

East Kilbride 3-0 up against Clyde at half time; Spartans drawing 0-0

Congratulations to Kilby - deserved winners (**cough buying the league 🤣**)

Massive two, possibly four games for Clyde over next week or so, hopefully get as many Clyde diehards (even the lapsed ones) over to Hamilton tonight

Looking very much like that is what’s going to happen. I’ll need to try and get along to one of them!

Indeed it is Slasher !!

However only half time, Spartans are a decent team and at are the home team on Saturday (probably more away fans than home fans through in the capital on Saturday though), if we avoid conceding first twenty five minutes then I'm confident as they will be on the front foot and hopefully leaving plenty space for our cunter attacks.

Hamilton looks likely final opponents, there league position was false due to all their points deductions, they would have finished top 3 had that not been the case

Hamilton would start as favourites for the final - either way should be a cracker (if we get by The Spartans)

Bit of a drama going on up at Borough Briggs

They've released a short statement on Twitter saying the 1st team manager has been suspended pending an ongoing investigation

Its strange how they’ve not mentioned his name at all and there’s is nothing mentioned about the incident on the Elgin City website

One to keep an eye on for the drama junkies
