I really don't think Reform will improve people's standards of living. They claim they'll cut £millions from council or government spending but they had a Councillor just last week who quit the party because there just aren't that many efficiency savings to be made.

Similarly lots of their councils in England are raising Council tax by 5% or so in order to provide services.

All of this unsurprisingly from a party led by a charlatan who promised massive economic benefits from leaving the EU.

Reform will make it far far worse, good luck telling people that though. Voting for them is utterly idiotic, but people will, in numbers.

Looking through some of the SNP candidates, some absolute roasters in there 🤣 I am guessing the others parties are every bit as bad, some can hardly speak English

One of the problems in this country (both Scotland the wider UK) is that talented and capable people aren't attracted to a career in politics anymore. I'm sure some go into politics with the aim of making a difference to people's lives but too many are just in it to enrich themselves and gain celebrity status. One wrong move and you get absolutely rinsed in the media. They can earn better money in the private sector and have an easier life.

Singapore has a much better system where talent is headhunted at Universities and their politicians are more technocratic and lower profile as opposed to people who love the sound of their own voices and crave the limelight. I never understand how anyone could vote for a party led by the likes of Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage - talentless gobshites on the grift. So many voters get sucked in by 3 word slogans and don't have a clue what they are actually voting for.

The UK has been protest voting since Brexit. People didn't vote for Labour - they voted to kick out the Tories.  If Reform win the next GE I'd be pretty confident that their honeymoon period won't last very long either. A Farage government will be Trump's puppet, riddled with corruption and mass division and unrest especially if they bring in an ICE equivalent. People who vote for Reform will be the first to moan and say "they're all the same".

But we all have the opportunity to put ourselves forward as MPs or MSPs. I'd never want to be one. I don't think I'm bright enough, I don't fancy the hours or the abuse.

its coming to a point that we really need normal intelligent members of the public to step forward and take some responsibility, what a state

Politicians today tend to be people with thick skins and large egos; regurgiators of soundbites rather than deep-thinkers.

When Starmer was on the ropes last week I saw a Tweet that said when Harold Wilson resigned from office Labour's potential replacements for party leader and Prime Minister included people like Benn, Callaghan, Foot, Healey and Jenkins. In 2026 the potential replacements for Labour leader and PM include Lammy, Mahmood, Milliband, Rayner and Streeting. I thought that highlighted the decline in quality quite neatly.

What is actually wrong with wanting your historically “white country” remaining majority white?

The word you omitted is elitist. Do you not see that as somewhat elitist?
Reform do not want a multicultural society in any shape or form , they want white people at all costs. There are good , intelligent non white people in the world, and its a big world where everyone should be born with the same chance in life to better themselves . They dont, because money and the lottery of birth place rules. Putting up further barriers that stop them moving around the world to live and work in different countries is , IMO, elitist.

And no, I am not a stupid lefty . I am not talking about uncontrolled immigration. I try to put myself in the position of someone who was not born in a country, by nothing other than chance, which ( for now at least) provides opportunities.

Agree completely with this.

Well why dont you step forward? You have already mentioned that you considered it. You still haven’t answered my question, thats a tick in the right box for any wanabee politician. You might need to work on the female vote right enough.

Number one policy should be repealing your lots right to vote. 😂

Am I the only one that thinks being an MP or MSP would be pretty good, Im sure it would drag after a while, maybe there should be term limits. Probably not helpful, but would see Murdo Fraser unemployed, lets give it a go.

🤣 don’t encourage him.

If you are very thick skinned and are convinced by your own limited ability then it might be ok, but unfortunately thats the problem , too many of them are.
Term limits is a good idea to get rid of the shite but it could backfire on the politicians that actually are capable.

I think this might be the first time you have openly admitted on the TAMB that your dislike of immigrants is, at least partly, down to the colour of their skin? Well done.

I'm not sure that's true. There are now enough non-white people in Scotland for at least one person to have annoyed someone else to the point where they can't stand them.

Sorry you will be proven wrong. We can’t look after everyone else at the expense of our own

I may consider it come time, at the moment no. The female vote is changing, large portions of them are moving to the”right” as they no longer feel safe in their communities

Aye well I look forward to seeing your application when it happens.

You have totally missed the point I was making about women. Either that or you are deflecting. Another excellent political weapon. .
It was nothing to do with left or right it was your dismissive and condescending line about women in general.
