I would say Dykes was decent 3 or 4 years ago and Adam’s will always score goals against weaker opponents. I don’t think either of them have the all round game to play against Morocco or Brazil. I would say we have two strikers that might make an impact against higher level opponents, Stewart and the lad at Hull Quote
Caledonian Craig Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Worrying. McGinn missed today's match V Spurs due to a tight hamstring. Quote
Caledonian Craig Posted May 3 Posted May 3 On a more positive note Emery expects him to be okay for the Europa League semi-final. Quote
Bzzzz Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Big Craigie said last night that he's almost there fitness wise, hopefully by the end of the week... fingers crossed he'll be ready! Quote

You just know we might need Haiti to do us a favour in that game. Just like what Belarus done for us in Copenhagen. Edited May 4 by DesiScotsman Quote
Caledonian Craig Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Che Adams injury obviously not as bad as was feared as he is on the subs bench for Torino this evening. Quote
Burj_Alba Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Could see by his reaction he thought it was serious, pity for the player but not the most worrying potential injury withdrawal Quote
ThistleWhistle Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Be a shame for Conway if he misses out. However he was probably getting picked because he can do a job out wide so it potentially leaves a spot for a wildcard who can actually play wide. Quote
Bzzzz Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Craig Halkett done his achilles which is gutting for the guy, he's had a great season and has been solid. Quote

Instead of just sticking a central midfielder out wide and hoping for the best, you mean? It's a radical idea but it might work. 🤔 Quote

DOUBLE A Posted Sunday at 07:36 AM Posted Sunday at 07:36 AM Conway ruled out of World Cup with ankle injury Quote
bdgsct Posted Sunday at 08:11 AM Posted Sunday at 08:11 AM Hanley went off with a knee injury yesterday. Even if he was unable to train for 2 or 3 weeks, I think that should be enough not to take him. He's only played 2 and half games since being injured in early Feb. These few weeks in the run up were going to be essential to trying to get back match sharp. We've got away with it in the past (Denmark) and been burnt (Greece) before, but surely we can't take another gamble in the circumstances. You could argue that he would have been better suited to the final 2 group games but it's not much extra time to get up to speed. I'd take Mckenna, Souttar, Hendry and Hyam. I'd have taken Halkett if fit but now I'd take 5 full backs and an extra striker instead. Bowie, Mcburnie or Stewart. If playing 4 at the back and we apre particularly unlucky with injuries, Tierney, Patterson or McLean could do a job at centre back in an emergency. Quote

With Hanley out as well it's going to be interesting to see who gets called up as replacements. Quote
Burj_Alba Posted Sunday at 09:30 AM Posted Sunday at 09:30 AM Pity for the two players (is Hanley confirmed out?) but not the potentially devastating news of a McGinn, McTominay, Tierney etc ruled out Quote

Craig Halkett would definitely have been the first choice for a replacement for Grant Hanley but with him injured too, what about Stephen Welsh from Motherwell as a call up? Been excellent this season. Quote
