Probably jinx it but we have been incredibly fortunate with injuries up to this point. Probably helped by a lot of potential squad members not getting much gametime which I suppose brings it's own issues. BDG, Gilmour, Hickey, Souttar, Patterson, Dykes, Hanley, Gunn, Miller to name a few. Only 4 matches left for most.

Yeh, I was thinking the same thing.  So far so good.  In particular BGD & Hickey are huge for us and ideally would be getting some minutes but much better glued to the bench than the dreaded alternative.

That will be a gigantic blow for them if he is ruled out. He’s by far and away their best player & a real quality one too.

Hopefully he's fit to resume for Morocco v Haiti 😁

Latest reports suggest he'll be out 'for a few weeks'.

The Edinburgh Evening News has an update on Craig Gordon.

Goalkeeper Craig Gordon is also edging closer to a first-team return after a shoulder problem. “He hasn’t done full training yet but he has been working with the goalkeepers and the goalie coach, Paul Gallacher,” said McInnes. “He did a couple of days back-to-back, he had a gym day today, and he is due to train again Friday and Saturday. If he can do that with the goalkeepers then we can see where he is for full training. We are trying to increase his time doing the goalkeeper training first.”

Craig is a composed, experienced member of the squad.  However his age is catching up with him and recovery from injury is clearly an issue now for his body.  Glad Hearts are very carefully managing his return.

Che Adams could be an injury doubt for the World Cup. He has been diagnosed with a partial rectus femoris strain in his right thigh which is said if minor (Grade1) lasts 1 to 2 weeks. A moderate strain (Grade 2) lasts 4 to 8 weeks and severe strain (Grade 3) lasts 3 to 6 months.

I would want Clarke to make decisions for the right reasons and don't want harm on anyone. This may force his hand. IMO - Ross Stewart and Oli McBurnie are next in line. Not convinced Dykes should be in our 26.

Also, regarding Gordon I think he will retire this summer, a World Cup and a potential title thats a reasonable "high" to end his career on.

Dykes gives us something that the others don't - presence

You want to give defenders something to think about and he can

Another thing he brings to the team/squad is a great builder of team spirit too or should I say a great team player who is popular with the rest of the squad.

Yep and he is unlikely to "go missing" like Adams when playing up front as he is a good target for an out ball and can hold it up

Could they not take him along as one of the coaching staff then?

Aye great one. Axe one of our top scoring strikers and select strikers who have over 30 caps between them with no goals for Scotland. That happens and we bomb out then you know this forum would crucify Clarke.

Bit of a Catch 22 situation there. He's one of our top scoring strikers because he's the only striker that gets decent game time apart from Adams. Even then the goals are in the distant past.

You cannot go into a World Cup with a totally unproven strike force. I am surprised anyone thinks we should.

Why not? Better than a strike force proven to be ineffective.

Internet reports suggesting Che Adams is out for up to three weeks. If that is the case he should be good to go for the World Cup.

A replacement needs to be called up just in case. If it were up to me I'd pick Ross Stewart. 10 goals since January, played very well against top opposition lately too.

No but it brings into play those that do score goals.
