Featuring regularly for a top six (comfortably) SPL side is the best we have at present in my opinion. Bain's done enough to deserve some game time at least in these two friendlies. He's no great 'keeper but we've no one else at the moment who is, and his form at Falkirk has at least shown he's capable. 29 minutes ago, Caledonian Craig said: Hmm not sure on Patterson. Really short of any consistent game time for a long time now and his last display for us was more horrific than anything Ralston has come up with I'd still go with McCrorie and Patterson as RBs for these next two games. I appreciate that Patterson has been in and out of the Everton team but he's still a better option than Ralston - the closest he'd get to Everton is if he bought a bag of mints. Quote

Giving Bain and Kelly minutes is important, but don't forget our number 1 will almost certainly be Gunn come the summer and he arguably needs game time now more than anyone in our squad. For me, Gunn starts both games, possibly give Bain and Kelly 30 to 45 minutes each. Agree on the full backs, McCrorie & Patterson, who is in desperate need of game time and should start at least one of these friendlies. Quote

All I can say is, thank fuck Belarus did us an unlikely gigantic favour in Copenhagen and we did the business against the Danes at Hampden. I’d be very worried going into a World Cup playoff at the end of this month with all these number of doubts and injuries. Quote

Hopefully it’s all going come together with most if not all back raring to go in June. Quote

He hasn't really shown much to believe that he is good enough at this level. Quote

Although I think it might be a wee while till he is in the Bournemouth matchday squad due to how long he has been out injured for but nevertheless it is a big positive that he is back training at least. He was the one massive worrying doubt for me, as had no idea as to when he would be back in training and if that would give him enough time to get himself fully fit and ready for this summer. Also McTominay returned to training on Tuesday and could be back playing this weekend for Napoli against Leece. Edited March 13 by DesiScotsman Quote

Iraola( Bournemouth manager ) said Doak just doing light training as the injury was quite severe. Let's hope there's no setbacks Quote
Caledonian Craig Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Yes great new about Doak. Obviously, it gives him time to get back to full match fitness for the May friendlies. McTominay too back and McGinn and Christie back in action too so some of our injury worries receding. Hickey out of the March friendlies though as Brentford hope he will be back fit after the international break. Craig Gordon, I hear, had an injection in his shoulder which could speed up his recovery but still won't be available for the March friendlies. Quote
bdgsct Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Most of the injuries seem to be clearing up in the same week. Gilmour, Christie and Adams starting games. Mcginn, McT and Doak on the bench. Just need to get them up to speed and keep them fit. Quote
bdgsct Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Connor Barron back on the bench too a bit sooner than expected. Quote

DesiScotsman Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 It’s looking a lot more healthier now. Hickey is the only one presently injured out of our regulars but is due to return after the international break. It will still be a nervy watch for all players between now and the World Cup as we reach the conclusion of the domestic season. Just hope it stays this way. Quote
scotlad Posted March 21 Posted March 21 If our big-hitters - Hickey, Gannon-Doak, Gilmour, McGinn, McTominay, Tierney and Robertson - are all fit and firing on all cylinders (or most cylinders) we have half a chance of looking forward to a tournament this summer that is memorable for the right reasons!
