Just watched my first film of 2026 - Nuremberg - and that it was tremendous. 150 minutes but it zips by which is no mean feat considering the subject matter and it’s essentially just people talking in rooms. Russell Crowe is outstanding and assuming it had the required theatrical release window I’d expect to see him in the awards mix.

FB have you watched the previous movie starring Alec Baldwin, Christopher Plummer and Brian Cox as Goring ?

I believe it's on Youtube

I thought it was very good and wonder how it compared

Recorded it tonight. Look forward to watching it over weekend.

I thought Nuremberg was dull as fuck and overly long, seen far better documentaries on the subject. One Battle after Another was also pish, the 2nd Sisu was ok tho.

Went to the cinema last week for a 'secret screening' where you don't find out which film it is until it starts! Anyway, it was Saipan - a film about the Republic of Ireland football team and the drama between Roy Keane and Mick Mccarthy at the 2002 World Cup. Gets officially released later this month. I enjoyed it, as did my wife who doesn't care much for football.

Eddington on the other hand was dreadful. Managed 60 minutes of nothing really happening other than Joaquin Phoenix moping about and switched it off when I realised there was another 90 minutes to sit through.

Nuremberg was average. I think Crowe carried the movie

I know the film makers always like to take artistic license but its not necessary with movies like this, the drama is already there. The journalist who was shoe horned in was unnecessary, Kelley didnt get fired and scene with the pope was laughable. All of this was unnecessary

Happened to turn on the tv last night and Top Gun 2 was on, only lasted 20 minutes it was literally the same film as Top Gun. Same soundtrack and the same scenes, wasn’t expecting an OSCAR worthy production but really….

Just got back from seeing this. I agree with what you say but still found it a powerful emotional, important and timely movie.

Worth watching.

Went to see it last night and enjoyed it. Thought it had a bit of a Four Lions flavour about it although not a similar story! It just made me think of it.
