Just watching Sky Sports and seen the League 1 table. Some race it is. And a wee question, What has happened to Hamilton Academical? They are is serious trouble here. Not to long ago they were in the Premiership...

As a Stenhousemuir season ticket holder I can probably comment a little on this division this season. Firstly on any given day anyone can beat anyone. Although Cove and Kelty are currently occupying the bottom two positions in the league they have both been decimated by injuries and operating with small squads makes it hard to get any momentum when the injury luck is against you. That being said they are both tough outs and Stenny had to scramble in the last 10 minutes to salvage a 2-2 draw against Kelty the last time we played them.

Inverness are the consensus strongest team in the division. Still full-time and having overcome their financial problems, they have a strong squad available. They began the season on -5 points as the second part of the punishment for going into administration last season but as you can see have managed to climb to the top of the table at the halfway point. Stenny are doing well to cling on to their coat tails. We are actually unbeaten against them having beaten them 1-0 up there in September and repeated the feat at Ochilview in early December.

Hamilton - what to say....... First of all, that screen shot of the table is incorrect Ramy. Hamilton have been deducted a further 9 points by the SPFL so they are actually on 16 points. The expectation is more points deductions are coming their way so they are in real danger of finishing bottom in spite of anything they do on the pitch. I'm led to believe the person in charge at Hamilton has no respect for the club or SPFL rules hence the constant points deductions. Last season they were on course to finish 7th or 8th in the Championship but a 15 point penalty towards the end of the season consigned them to finishing bottom. They no longer play at New Douglas Park either - again something to do with the owner I think although Ally Bongo would be better informed than me on this - and are currently tenants at Broadwood.

As for the rest, well it really is a case of needing to be on it every single game otherwise you will be beaten on that day. The quality of football in the main isn't great but the matches are fiercely contested and the banter is good in the stands. Hope this informs you a little, cheers.

Mon the Warriors!

Think the points deductions so far this season is up to 15

And rumours abound that the new Directior has also failed to come up with the money for this months wages so that will be another deduction no doubt

Excellent read Morrie, cheers mate. Looks like ICT are a certain for the promotion, and we'll, Hamilton are in deep trouble, off the park aswell..

I've taken an interest in all the Scottish divisions now.

Happy New Year when it comes Morrie, and good luck the Warriors..

Cheers Ramy, all the best to you when it comes also.

After discussing this yesterday I noticed the Hamilton may be getting liquidated this week. Sad to see. Apparently they have no money to pay the wages and the players are considering their options - one of them being not fulfilling this weekend's match against East Fife. If they do take that option the director has said he will liquidate the club. Hopefully some solution can be reached but it isn't looking good.

Every bit of news regarding the famous Hamilton Accies has been utter depressing and shite for the last 5 years

This looks better than anything anyone can have imagined and all that is left is to get back to New Douglas Park

Was pleased to see the news about Hamilton yesterday. Hopefully the takeover group are decent folks and the club can get back on its feet............ Obviously still finishing below Stenny in the table this season though!

Hopefully stenny go up, had a fantastic away trip there with fraserburgh in the cup and despite now being Aberdeens 2nd worst cup upset defeat, I still want to see stenny do well, especially against Cove and Peterheed 🤢

Cheers mate. I remember that day well when we knocked Aberdeen out of the Scottish Cup - it was amazing to see a squad which had several Scotland internationals in it humbled at Ochilview. I also respect the fact you want to see us doing well.

Gary Naysmith has assembled a superb squad on a small budget and they are giving everything for him. This team just works and works even when it's not our day or the quality/end product is slightly off. Promotion would be incredible but Inverness will be tough to overcome although we are in a good spot at the moment and have laid down the challenge to them so to speak.

I'm just taking it week by week. As I mentioned this league features many closely matched teams so you need to be on it each week to keep the momentum going. I'm also looking forward to the Scottish Cup match on Jan 17. We are at home to Morton and looking to cause another cup upset - getting through that and then drawing a Premiership team away would certainly help the club's finances.

Still tight at the top, Inverness and Stenhousemuir both drew, a point separating them (58 and 57 points).

Big one today at Ochilview as Stenhousemuir welcome Inverness for a battle between the top two. Not quite league title decider territory but whoever comes away with the win will be firmly in the driving seat. BBC Alba with a 1730 kickoff for anyone who's interested. C'mon the Warriors!

Inverness got a bit of a doing from Raith last week so hopefully that'll work in your favour. Good luck to Stenhousemuir 🤞

Well, well, it's gone to the last day with several issues still to be decided. Firstly the title. Inverness host Hamilton needing just a draw as they will begin the day with a two point advantage and better goal difference than my boys, the gallant Stenhousemuir. We play away at Montrose which is never easy but hopefully the team will perform and win and then we will see what happens up in Inverness.

Speaking of Hamilton, they can finish eighth and avoid the relegation playoff if they better whatever result East Fife achieve at Cove Rangers. That will be motivation enough for Hamilton to give Inverness a game on Saturday.

Kelty are down but the other issue to be resolved is 3rd/4th place. Alloa hold a two point lead over Queen of the South in that particular tussle but fittingly the two teams will meet one another at Recreation Park so QOTS can claim third spot with a win. Finishing third would mean taking on the second place League One team in the playoff semi-final as opposed to the club finishing 9th in the Championship.

An interesting final Saturday of the league campaign awaits......

And given next to no coverage along with the Championship and League 2.

I'm no Joey Barton but this deserves way more coverage than the media obsessed women's football gets.
