AlfieMoon Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 Do we think they’ll be quick enough to get some initial numbers back to the membership today based on the application data from their soft deadline yesterday?? Quote

That's a good question Alfie. I can't see where they have said when they will get back to everyone. I was assuming today or tomorrow but that might not actually be right. Quote
DesiScotsman Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 It depends on when will FIFA supply them with the data as they will know the numbers. (hopefully today or worst case before Christmas but I’m not going to hold my breath for either of them). Same time, the data could be very useful or just a pile of utter gibberish shite that’s going to leave more questions than answers. Just depends what FIFA supply them with. Hopefully it’s something useful like a general update to all members that have applied indicating the points threshold that tickets are likely to drop to so lower pointers know what their chances are and any categories that are oversubscribed so higher pointers know if their chosen category is safe or they need to resubmit their application. Also some guidance around those cheaper tickets as well. Again time will tell I suppose. Quote
Lenbo Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 I suspect their failure to update fans on the new cheapest ticket allocation means a few like me have simply ignoring their soft deadline. I've got maybe enought tickets for that allocation and definitely enough for the original cheapest one. If they won't tell me what's happening though why should i get my application in now. Quote

bdgsct Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 I'm on 17 points and went with 3xcat 3 (supporters value ticket). If it looks like I'll miss out, I might reluctantly go up to the more expensive category for the Brazil game but not the other 2. Will take my chances for a Cat 3 ticket in the general ballot or resale. Interested to hear other's approach. Quote
ceudmilefailte Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 I’m on 18 and went for a category one in the hope my daughter will on 12. If you get a cat 3 I helped! Quote

Most high pointers I know have only done the same so completely muddies the waters! Quote

So assuming you are going to apply for a ticket before the January deadline it means a fellow supporter who has applied for Cat 3 (therefor probably a also on reasonable points) won't get anything? This has been discussed on other threads, but surely the SFA must have built in some wiggle room for this kind of scenario. Quote

People will think they’re fine and then bang - no ticket. Quote
Lenbo Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 I suppose the advice can only be- on those points you definitely won't get a ticket at that level so consider if you want to select more expensive Or you may have to enter a ballot so consider if you want to select more expensive Quote

Fun and games. Quote
Souness Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 The current position is that we haven't "sold" out our full allocation. Unless there's a late surge then anybody wanting a ticket gets one. Quote

I suppose that tells you that less that 2000 SSC members (who are presumably planning to travel) are willing to pay $400-$700 for tickets. If we are not willing to pay these prices in the SSC ballot then it's probably the same in the general ballot (although you would at least get a better seat). Glad to see this. Two fingers up to FIFA. Edited December 22, 2025 by bdgsct Quote
Craig Fae Hamilton Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 I've not heard anything? Although, the FIFA handling of this has pissed everyone. It could be that those who never booked early enough, saw cost spiralling, topped of with $1800 SSC Tickets for 3 Group Games just thought fuck it. I'll watch it in the pub and who can blame them? Lenbo Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 Without details on how far away the tickets are from a sell out. It doesn;t really say anything. I always suspect that as we got to the dearer tickets and the lower points levels purchasing would slow down. A punter on 5 points misses half of the home games so not sure how many have the means to go to the USA and buy a top category ticket. Equally i know of people who are going but holding their applications until they can sort work, family, money etc. Quote

Lenbo Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 I don't I was responding to Souness's post above. Quote
