HappyH00ligan Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 As we get closer to the World Cup, we'll hopefully get treated to a series of build-up documentaries/podcasts. So just starting a thread for folk to share links to any that are worth watching/listening to. First from me is Scotland 78: A Love Story. At one point it was on iPlayer (hopefully it'll come back), but someone has kindly stuck it on YouTube. Quote
Toepoke Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 ITV coverage from 1974 (it's not that long, includes 50 minutes of the testcard!)... Quote
NSIGN Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 My wife and I watched the Rab C Nesbitt Italia 90 episode a few nights after the Denmark game. Quote
DesiScotsman Posted December 21, 2025 Posted December 21, 2025 Was going through the tv listings on Sky for this specifically to watch over the Christmas holidays. Next Saturday on BBC Scotland has some very good documentaries on that I’ve scheduled on the recording planner: 8:30pm - Icons of football (Joe Jordan) 9pm - Away with the tartan army - Scotland’s best moments 10pm - Only an excuse (special edition) 11pm - Scotland’s football jukebox Quote

DesiScotsman Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 (edited) BBC Scotland tonight at 8:45pm - Sportscene: Road to the World Cup Only on for 15 mins so guessing it’s just the highlight package of our 6 qualifying matches. Won’t tire of watching the goals from that Denmark win over again before bringing in the new year in a few hours time 🙂 Edited December 31, 2025 by DesiScotsman Quote

Also hundreds of clips via Facebook, YouTube etc of the Denmark goals from people in Hampden or pubs around Scotland. Still get shivers and goosebumps. I'll no doubt be watching hundreds of more clips. Probably one of Scotland's greatest games and best goals ever. Quote

I watched the last 10 mins of the game last night then the 30 mins after the whistle. The scenes were unreal and I don’t think I’ll get tired of it. Everything about that night was unforgettable. One thing I’d love to see but can’t seem to find it anywhere is our goals going in from the Denmark end. Seen numerous ones from the home stands & households/pubs across the country. I'll be fou o amber bead ... and probs a tad teary ... but I bet I'll not be alone in that ❤️ BTW ... all 12 episodes of 'Icons of Scottish Football's are still available on BBC iPlayer ... Wouldn't be rushing to put online or maybe smashed their phones when Tierneys goal went in. Quote

It would have been amazing seeing it from their end with the stands in absolute bedlam from all 4 goals that night. I remember an Italian filmed Barry Ferguson’s goal in the Euro 2008 qualifying decider from the away end. Seen two Danish YouTubers doing a watch along of the match and their mood turning from excitement to utter deflation when Kieran Tierney scores and the sheer disgust at Kasper Schmeichel from getting lobbed by Kenny McLean from the halfway line 😂🏴 Edited January 4 by DesiScotsman Quote
