Craig Fae Hamilton Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 This is becoming clearer now. Resell Market will stay open after the Random and PMA Draws close: "The FIFA Resale Marketplace will close on 22 February 2026 at 11:00 am (Eastern Time) / 17:00 (Central European Time) and will reopen on 2 April 2026 at 11:00 am (Eastern Time) / 17:00 (Central European Time)." It will stay open until 22nd Feb. Just long enough for desperate fans to push prices through the roof after they lose out on the Random and PMA draws above. Before the prices lower, they will close it on 22nd Feb. And it won't open again until the Lsst-Minute Sales Phase opens early April so they can benefit from the SKY HIGH prices on the resell Market when FIFA set their opening asking prices. They appear to be shafting fans in every way possible. Quote

In which case, on the off chance of a better price, I'd be logging in at 4pm on 2nd April. Not really sure about the logic for closing it. Surely drives more people to 3rd party sites...? A very strong second string, bit still. Quote

Reillo Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Question for "Craig Fae Hamilton" as you seem to have been studiously tracking the resale prices: I am waiting for results of random draw selection, Haiti Cat 2 ticket today is $700..... worth a punt today at that price or what for draw result? Β Quote

Β For what its worth, I think Marketplace is going to be flooded with tickets once the results of the ballot are out. Obviously some people will be looking to make some money, but my gut feel is that a lot will just want their money back (+FIFA 30% tax) Quote

There going to be a lot of us scouring the resale market for sure.Β For a group of three on 12 points you are not guaranteed tickets so not out of the question for each person to apply for 3 tickets in the open ballot. Potentially you could end up with 12 tickets in this group. If this happened to us (doesn't look liek it has though!) we would just be looking to recoup our money and sell at face value. Setting the price higher means we could be left with tickets not selling or end up having to reduce to below face value nearer the time. It's all speculation, but I am certainly in the camp that says prices on Marketplace will initially rise post tomorrows outcome before dropping as it is always the cheapest tickets that sell first. Β I am speculating the same as everybody else M8. But 100%, for the sake of a Day I would hang off and wait on the results tomorrow. For what it's worth. I think ticket prices will fall over all for the Group Games. You might need to wait until May/June for that to happen though. Resell prices might increase initially after the results of the latest Draws are released tomorrow. FIFA will then close the Resell Market for a bit which will allow them to set prices high for the free for all FIFA ticket sale that is beginning April I think. Prices will start to reduce in Price May and then June will see touts trying to unload a lot of tickets quickly. Β That's my take. For my tickets. Refused to apply for Cat 1 SSC Tickets due to cost. I applied for General Sale Cat 2 Morocco and Cat 3 Haiti. But the price of those I think is still way over what I would need to pay in June.Β Quote

sultan_of_arabia Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Ok so we can calm down with the idle speculation a bit on ticket prices. What we know is demand clearly greatly exceeds supply even at category 1 prices, every ticket they made available sold. Currently there are about 3000 tickets available on the primary 3rd party sites if we accept the "4% stadium capacity available". Cheapest tickets there currently are 6-800 pounds depending on the match. This is about 200 more than category 1 via the sale. We have no idea how many are on the FIFA marketplace. So in other words FIFA's market research was almost spot on in terms of assessing the supply v demand with them selling tickets slightly under what the market is prepared to pay. Offering a handful of lower priced category 3 meant millions more applied gaining them some headline grabbing figures and acting as a token appeasel for football fans not just to US event pricing. The fact most seats are category 1 and the demand was there at this price point proved them to be correct. Likely the could have even pushed them a little higher but then they ran off the risk of not selling out in the sales and negative news stories about pricing. They played it perfectly from their perspective. As a general rule resale pricing is greatest when FOMO is greatest i.e. after the main sales. Falling significantly if wider demand doesn't exist outside of the diehard fans. It stings potentially buying a category 3 or 4 ticket that was bought for under a hundred dollars for ten times that but ultimately I don't think many real fans care where they seats are especially as some category 1 are located in the areas often the cheapest in Europe.Β Now the speculation part considering what we know and not just that we think tickets are too expensive. Given the entry point of resale market isn't hugely inflated above category 1 and that market is limited there is a good chance it will hold. If there going to be under 5k available on resale and the higher speculatively priced tickets start dropping to the entry point then Scotland fans can likely even snap up them alone maybe even near current entry price point. I think the category of the ticket matters little compared to this. Longer term I expect the "better" tickets to come down towards this price point.Β As for myself, I'm holding off for now, there likely some bump at this point of sales due to the FOMO effect and we seen a 10% rise last day or so as a result. I expect the price to return to pre-ballot result pricing in the short to mid-term but it appears the demand is there to keep pricing at or above 4-500 pound mark. I also do think there is a chance getting a decent fan selling tickets for cost price here and there but you will have to get very lucky for this. I do expect better seats to be available for cheaper prices than currently too. Also it will make a difference when I know the exact seat and fan sections. The 750 pound Brazil ticket I looked at this morning I would have bought for example if I knew it was a seat behind the Scottish allocation. Anyway good luck to everyone and extra respect for anyone who has the balls to hold out. I'm interesting to see when my arse will fall out and I will just buy. Β Β Quote

Scotland v Morocco tickets were always about 100usd more expensive than the Scotland v Haiti tickets. That's now reversed, with Haiti tickets now 10 bucks more expensive TY for noticing. And the next part of the plan is they will let prices run riot. Close the Resell Market when prices are still through the roof. Keep it closed until the LAST MINUTE FREE FOR ALL SALES PHASE is starting. Launch that with asking prices that are eye wateringly high, which will appear cheap in comparison to Resell Market. They will maximise Sales in that. Re-Sell Prices will start to adjust in response. This will go on for all of April. Prices will start to fall from May onwards. June we will have an opportunity to buy affordable tickets. Β That is my full prediction. Β Saying that, I honestly thought it would be shooty in for Cat 2's on FIFA Lottery for Morocco and Haiti though. And that prediction was a mile off! Β Quote
