It's going to be interesting gauging what happens with the ticket prices in the run-up to games in the four preceding games to our Haiti match.  It's looking like there are thousands of tickets currently in the hands of folk who have no intention of going to the games.  These are the available tickets just on the FIFA re-selling site at the moment (Haiti - 2,043, Morocco - 1,792 and Brazil - 1,675).

You can probably assume there are similar numbers on other re-sale platforms - and the tickets are not shifting at current prices.  Very few who are travelling ticket-less are prepared to pay the current prices - certainly not a month in advance.

I think (and really hope) that a lot of these touts get stung and have to fight with each other to try and offload their tickets at significant reductions in a mad scramble the day before games as it becomes apparent that a lot of fans simply are not prepared to be fleeced, and will happily watch the game from the fanzone or wherever else they choose rather than get dragged into FIFA's exploitation of the fans.

I genuinely think that there are going to be plenty of empty seats in a lot of the group games despite what FIFA would have us believe.  And if this is the case, for games they could have easily sold more tickets via  the competing football associations (like ours) - that Infantino & Co are held to account for their incompetence and greed.

Could have sold a lot of tickets for 5p each. I would say FIFA has played a blinder to maximise profits.

The really annoying thing is applying for cat 1 tickets via the random draw, not getting anything, but then they release more in a Last minute sale draw. Cunts are at it

I expect FIFA will continue to release more tickets for each game at prices below face value of previous releases. I.e. dynamic pricing.

FIFA released a load more Brazil tickets into general sale yesterday, all at a price of over $2600 each.

Who the fuck is going to pay over $1200 for a group game against Brazil - especially when there is a good chance as the last group game it might be a dead rubber

It's Brazil in the World Cup. That carries a huge draw. I do brradly agree though. But lots will still pay crazy monry to go to it.

For me, most important tickets to have (in order):

1. Haiti - 1st game and it is a MUST WIN.

2. Last 32 - Coz I think we will go through.

3. Morocco - We could seal qualification. But even a narriw defeat and it could be setting us up for qualification.

4. Brazil - Just because it's Brazil at the WC

5. L16 - Coz with our Team there is a reasonable chance.

Totally agree with that. Our best chance of seeing Scotland win at a World Cup, since 1990. Priceless

I presume they didnt and this proved to be wrong?

Not stirring, just interested in how it worked out in the end for those who were adamant there would be late bargains?

I didnt keep up to date with pricing directly but I had friends who tried desperately to get last minute tickets for both Morocco and Brazil and ended up paying 4 figure sums for tickets for each game on matchday. 

Where did tickets fall to at best price for each game on resale? And if that wasnt matchday (my friend's experience suggests it wasnt) when did they start climbing up again? I'm guessing after we beat Haiti the other two games surged back up?

Your right, they generally climbed from £500 in the days leading up. A few mates vot very lucky in the LMS but that was exceptional. The resale was crazy and 99% of seats were filled.

At the game all we heard was American voices in Brazil tops , never spoke to or heard a Portuguese voice, bandwagon jobs

Aye, that's what happened.

I didn't factor in the locals getting swept up in the whole 'TA experience'. I think the late surge was locals wanting to join the party.

I managed to get a Cat 2 Morocco ticket for $609 the day before the game. It was an absolute bargain (relatively speaking!).

I had been expecting to pay around $350 a month ago, so i got that all wrong!

I saw and spoke to loads of Portuguese speaking Brazilians. They were probably mostly US residents but they were genuine Brazilian fans mostly as far as I could see.

To be fair there may have been a bit of that but I think it was more our own fans getting swept up in the post Haiti euphoria and wanting to repeat it. I know four different father / son groups who came over for a holiday and intent to attend one game in three cases and no game at all in one. They arent regular away fans and the three who had single game tickets had bought on open market before going.

One pair came over for the week in Boston with no expectation of going but hoped to buy Haiti tickets once over, which they did for about £600 each. They loved the experience so much they binned their fanzone passes and bought two Morocco tickets for about £800 each.

One pair who had Haiti tickets before they came (@about £750 each) loved it so much they then paid $2,500 for 3 (they had a pal by then!) on Morocco matchday morning. 

One pair who came with another two pals, for Morocco but always intended to fly down to Miami for a fanzone day ended up paying £1,200 each for three Brazil tickets and £1,000 for a fourth. 

People absolutely got caught up in the whole experience and lost the run of themselves. Thats 10 people who collectively spent about £15k on match tickets alone who had only planned to spend about £1,000 - £1,500 per pair for one ticket each (call it £1,200 each for the two who planned to go to Brazil all along). They spent an unplanned £10k on match tickets 

Eyewatering stuff. I wouldnt have paid it and I go to regular away games.

You always have to doubt somebody don’t you….. I was there with ma daughter &  a load of pals & we all said the same- lack of Brazilian voices. No big deal, just the way we experienced it.

I had budgeted at 300 quid a ticket ( looks to be well short ) though if we had of made it with my record it woukd of probably via the FAI

I agree, we experienced / said the same

There's 214m of them, and given the location, we were always likely to be significantly outnumbered - There's no shame in that!

Hangers on (yanks in Brazil tops) and Brazilian citizens resident in Florida (US in general) was a misrepresentation of who actually travelled from Brazil itself
