Just posting latest prices from FIFA and other Scalpers:

 

Haiti- $805 FIFA CAT 3, Scalpers $791 (Need to go looking for Tic Cat)

Morocco - $862.50 CAT 4 / $948.75 CAT 3 (Both FIFA), Scalpers $747

Brazil - $1259.25 FIFA CAT 3, Scalpers $1183

These won't come down until last lottery is completed. There aren't enough there just now, after the latest lottery there will be plenty. I wouldn't buy now. 

At a total guess - best time to buy would be Apri when it starts to die down. I think people will get tickets face value if very quick.

When Americans don't pay $400/$500/$600 in the FIFA ballot for Cat 2 Tickets, most prices will come down, some will crash through the floor.

Very few Group Games will maintain a ticket price above $1000 in my opinion. Maybe Portugal v Colombia, and I hope not but Brazil v Scotland.

When we say crash through the floor, what we mean is return to normal third party resale world cup ticket prices of $100-$300. Its simple economics.

Do you truly believe that Scotland v Brazil in Miami in the World Cup will be $100-300 dollars?

Has anyone had any issues getting on either the random ticket ballot page or the resale market place? Its not worked for me for 3 days, just doesn't load the landing page.

1. If there are 20k scottish fans and 20k Brazilian fans then still 25k neutral tickets which will largely dictate market price. Neutrals won't enter a $500 ballot, a lot of scottish and Brazilian fans won't either, including me.

2. It's a Wednesday at 6pm local time so that's a day off work for most, or at least a half day.

3. Portugal play Colombia there a few days later on the Saturday, I think this will be a bigger draw for locals being a weekend and Ronaldo factor. Very difficult for locals to do both.

Don't get me wrong, it won't be dirt cheap bu under $300 for worse seat is easily possible imo.

Those cat1 seats were $445.

Those cat1 seats were $445. 

They could be sponsors tickets. Whatever the asking price, it doesn't mean people are buying at that price.

I didn’t mention the selling price. 
 

Fair enough - your assumption is that folk with Cat1/2 for sale have obtained via sponsors. We’ll have a better idea in Feb I guess.

True. Or how about FIFA putting their own tickets on the resale market to hype up the market and encourage people to enter the ballot at what seems like a discount. They have been meticulous in ripping off fans so far, why wouldn't they do this?

It’s the World Cup. 

It’s not just Scotland fans, Americans and Brazil fans that want to attend this. It’s the world. Scotland v Brazil would sell out with just the 3 nations above comfortably at $450 a ticket. Add in its cash rich Miami, middle of summer, extra tourists and you sell the stadium out over and over again. 
 

Ticket prices for this won’t drop. If you want to go to the match, are in the SSC and can afford to pay it now, then do so.

There'll be the odd ticket if you're lucky due to a drunk or unwell punter going, but these price's will stay around these prices.

I live in Orlando, my next door neighbor is Brazilian. He has tickets already. There at 10's of thousands of wealthy Brazilians in Florida.

"Brazilians are major buyers of Florida property, drawn by lifestyle, climate, strong returns, and a large existing community, especially in Miami and Orlando, using properties for vacation, investment rentals, or primary homes, and often financing purchases with competitive U.S. rates". GOOGLE.

It's not Americans you need to worry about buying tickets, it's the Brazilians. Come April there won't be any tickets let along cheap ones IMHO. So, at the very least - don't bet on getting one cheap.

They also have a population of 213 million. 
 

I think it’s fair to assume that a decent number of people have the means to meet the FIFA prices.

I knew that. 👍 I was questioning the poster’s opinion that Americans (or others) were not likely to pay $500 for tickets. I was pointing to the fact that folk  already have more or less done so.

apologies...

There is lot more interest over there than folks over here think. Millions of expats from lots of qualified countries which means a lot more interest in football than europeans think.

Haiti - Now $690 for CAT 3 on  FIFA / Scalpers $747

Morocco - $860 CAT 4 FIFA, $920 CAT 2 FIFA / Scalpers $724

So, even in a couple of days prices are coming down. Still say that most prices will plummit after this sales phase ends when lots of CAT 1 and 2's that don't sell to Americans are made available. Very few games will hold their value. PortugalvColombia and sadly possibly BrazilvScotland?

I have shifted the tickets I bought that I cannot use. Will be using $'s to buy Scotland Tickets possibly up to the QF if it is reached Via a 3rd placed finish and a Boston or NY Last 32. Still looking for Morocco and Haiti tickets also. Will know more when we get the results of this ballot.

Would not be surprised if this was the case.

"Look it's a thousand bucks for a Cat 3 ticket, might as well go for Cat 1 in the ballot for $500".

I have tickets from a 3rd party seller but don't get the tickets until a few days/the day before the game apparently.

Can I sell these tickets on FIFA's resell site if I choose not to go...and how?

Brazil and Argentina tickets would sell out 10 times over at double the price they are at now.

I can only guess but assume you would need to officially have ownership of said tickets (i.e. you have them on FIFA ticket system) for them to then provide the option to use their resale platform. 
 

If you don’t get them until a few days before, possibly hours, then that’s a problem. 
 

Just my guess though.
