SeaCowe Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Am looking for some advice please as this will be my first time travelling with the Tartan Army. I honestly can’t wait! I'm travelling solo as we moved to England when I was young so all my English mates told me to do one when I asked if they wanted to come with me 😂 All information is welcome. I’ll attempt to get tickets, but I imagine my plan is to head to the fanzone(s) in downtown Boston for game day and pre game day to test out numerous beers. With people who’ve travelled with the TA before, do you just find the crowd in the cities you’re in or will there be a forum with information on where people are headed too etc? I’m keen to get involved so don’t want to miss out. I’ve booked 8 nights near Harvard and am at the WC for the first two games. I’m happy with the accommodation I’ve got but if anyone wants help with the cost and has a spare room going somewhere not that far out of Boston, I may be keen to jump ship if it suits both parties. Cheers. Quote
Easy_1967 Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 (edited) Closer to the time, you'll probably find posts on here & on The Tartan Army Group on Facebook with various meeting places etc, including in real-time. The Facebook group is usually a valuable source of information, albeit it has went absolutely nuts in recent days for obvious reasons & I've ended up snoozing it for a bit. 😆 Generally though, if you just go & wander somewhere central, you will very quickly find yourself in the midst of Scotland fans making some new pals. The fanzone itself is rumoured to be at Boston Common or the City Plaza, which will obviously also be busy with Scotland fans & others at various times. There'll be plenty going there for the game itself too I'd imagine. For those going to the game, I imagine by matchday there'll be a reasonable understanding of where the main meeting points will be before we head to the stadium. Feel free to come and share a beer and a chat! 🏴🏴🏴 Quote

Besides the place will be full of yanks wearing Celtic tops. Quote

Iain69 Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Similar here - will be my first time travelling with TA Been in England for over 50 years and travelling with my son. Not expecting to get tickets but will be hitting the beers in the fan zone Quote
Doon the Watter Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Ma wife and I have travelled to a few away games recently and we're in the US and there's no TA members around for us to travel with. However, that does not stop us having the best of times. The conversations generally start with the TA members as soon as we get off the plane. It's always a brilliant atmosphere and everyone has always made us more than welcome. Ma wife was a bit hesitant to travel, as she said "we don't know anyone". Sure, we don't know anyone, but the number of conversations and friendships we've struck up just by being there is amazing. If we're at a new pub or whatever and Scottish fans are there, it just seems natural to have a conversation with them. Don't hesitate to ask, "would they mind if you joined them". Anyway, she loves to travel and meet up with her "ain kin" and is looking forward to Boston. No tickets for the games but expecting dynamic pricing to be virtually giving the tickets away nearer kick off. Name dropping here, ma cousin's boy is Clydebank captain. Watched them a number of times as I am a regular traveler back to Greenock. There's just something good about watching lower league games. Its all 100% effort and none of yir prima donna sh**e that goes on higher up the leagues. Quote

runningtings Posted December 16, 2025 Posted December 16, 2025 Welcome aboard mate, one of the funniest things on away trips is no matter where you are in the host city you'll encounter TA round every corner. Quote

I know what you mean about the lower leagues, I sometimes take my daughter to lower league games down here and you can see the difference. They'll be a fair bit of me asking "Can I join you lads" & maybe bringing some drinking games from back in the day! ESTA approved, FIFA ballot application in for tickets (you've gotta throw your name in the hat at least), adding to my shirt collection & getting ideas for what to see and book in Boston. June cant come soon enough! Edited December 17, 2025 by SeaCowe Quote
