polky Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 For those wanting guaranteed tickets now and who were not aware, FIFA had a Right to Buy scheme (RTB) via FIFA Collect, whereby fans could pay to guarantee a ticket for certain matchdays. Fans who paid for these RTB, recently paid for the conversion to Right to Tickets (RTT), so effectively paying the full ticket price for the seating category of their choice, CAT 1 being the highest offering. These RTT are available to buy now on the FIFA Collect Marketplace. This is a guarantee of a ticket and once purchased, there is no additional cost (since the ticket price is already paid for during conversion from RTB to RTT) and FIFA will convert these RTT into actual tickets in May/Jun next year. Whilst the actual seat choice can only be made when FIFA release these in May/Jun next year, the CAT of seat is guaranteed. You can either chose to pay the asking price set by the seller, or make a bid which they can chose to accept or not. For example CAT 1 tickets for Haiti v Scotland in Matchday 5 in Boston range from $675 - $2,500 per ticket. No doubt these will increase in price as the event gets closer. Take a look here for those on sale now.. https://collect.fifa.com/marketplace Full disclosure - i took a punt on tickets before the draw and ended up with 2 tickets for HAI v SCO, so selling mine via this official FIFA channel. Really interesting post and not something I’d not seen before. Absolutely mental again from FIFA when you access the site. Blows my mind the ways they’ll find money. This will have people even more fuming. I think SCO v HAI will come down from $675 personally 2/3 days before the match. Buying “third party” right now is madness surely unless it’s face value. For Brazil I can understand it as that will sell out. Edited December 9, 2025 by GaryWood34 Quote

DoonTheSlope Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 So FIFA will contact you in May/June and ask if you want to swap this esticker thing for a ticket to the game? Surely not. Is this genuine? There’s options there costing less than what my official ticket cost in Munich Quote

Of course everyone will take up the option of the ticket. I have 2 for sale. FIFA did the same thing for the FIFA World Club Cup earlier this year. Some people like me took a punt on getting a big game, which i would have gone to (and may still, would love to go to a World Cup game), others got them with a view to making a few quid (or $000's by the look at some of those resale prices!). After paying $319 for the initial RTB (different prices were paid at different times) and then the $420 CAT1 ticket, then after FIFA commission (15%) and banking fees then i would need to sell for about $875 to break even, which is what i've listed for sale at on there. That works out at approx. £750 for a CAT1 (best seats - see attached) ticket. Expensive, yes. But what's cheap these days and it does guarantee a ticket to watch Scotland in the World Cup ! Quote

Why would anyone pay $750 for a low demand game like this? When all tickets are released the prices will go down to a few hundred dollars and most of these will be Cat1 as these are the biggest proportion of the stadium. I'm not sure I will take up a Cat1 ticket from SSC at $400+ nevermind this nonsense. Quote

Totally agree, thats ma feelings- be like Club World Cup no doubt where tickets went down on some games to 20/30 dollars in couple days before games, that were less ‘popular’ games. To be honest a lot of people who say they went for a punt for games with initial sales weren’t buying them as fans, just hoping they could make money ,end of Quote

bdgsct Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 I'll criticise FIFA for a helluva lot (justifiably) but I do think by charging fortune at face value and then 15% to both the seller and buyer at resale they will eliminate most of the tout market. The cost though is to the SSC members and other associations fans who need to make plans early and are left paying the daft face value prices. Not many SSC tickets make it onto the black market, they could have easily charged less for these in a similar way to the Euros fans first and still achieved the same aim, just greed really. Quote
