NBA play off is around that time too. Celtics are currently third in the Eastern Conference.

Yankees are at home in between both Boston games for anybody spending a bit of time in New York.

Yeh not cheap cause it’s Bluejays through official channels.

Stubhub US normally have had them coming up around £50/70

Loose change to our Cat 1/2 World Cup tickets 😉

US Open (golf) taking place in New York that week between the first two games.

Tickets are actually not all that bad, with day passes starting from $85

The single game tickets for Red Sox are now on sale, we noticed today.  Prices much better, we got 4 tickets for Thursday 18th afternoon match v Blue Jays in Grandstand 10 for under $60 each.  There are cheaper tickets but watch out as some areas of ground are uncovered, could get fried.

I'm tempted to do the Red Sox vs Blue Jays baseball game too as think it will be a cool experience. But I don't have a scooby doo how baseball works so will be sitting there scratching my head not knowing what is going on 😅

It's just rounders with fancy equipment & big bases 👍

Do any of you actually know anything about baseball? I mean I like the thought of it - hot dogs and beers at your seat in the sun, but I literally have no idea what it’s all about. Would I need to know, or is it more about enjoying the event?

Edit: Just read DesiScotsman’s post above which echoes my comment 😆

It's really easy to understand. It's a bit like dumbed down cricket for hard of thinking donuts. You'll be fine. 👍

I've been before but just to see Florida Firefrogs play in minor leagues which are feeder teams for the MLB .. it's a good day out just google for basic rules but roughly teams have turn about scoring by getting round the bases .. when 3 players get out they switch till the end of nine innings each .. scoring is when a players gets to home base. All the stats stuff is for real enthusiasts but as a spectacle I thought it was enjoyable

Googled the rules on a plane journey to LA, landed and bought tickets. Loved it. Some fella done a “grand slam” which is pretty rare… supposedly.

Wouldn’t go more than once a year.

I don’t keep up with it when home. But as a spectacle - definitely go. But you need to know the rules.

I’m sure there’s a bookie somewhere who can keep me amused. Used to bet on the next bus being odd or even Would more or less then ten people get on at Shields Roads  underground and would anyone get on at west street

Pretty sure a build a bet could be fun.

I went to a game when I was in Japan last summer and it’s very easy to pick it up as it goes along.

I found it really fucking boring though. Such a slow, stop-start game. I’d still recommend going — and I’m probably going to drag a couple of mates along —  as the game is only a part of the experience, I just wouldn’t go expecting an action packed and drama filled day.

Cheers both. Just bought a ticket for the game on June 16th against the Blue Jays. Looking forward to it, should be a brilliant experience despite not having a Scooby Doo what the fuck will be going on & most likely annoying the yank sat right next to me with a ton of questions throughout the game 😅

A bit of culture the day after the Haiti game:

https://www.bostoncentral.com/events/bunker_hill_day_parade/p8631.php

Families have been enjoying the Bunker Hill Day parade for years and years. The parade route is all around Charlestown, and is either held on the Sunday before, or on June 17 each year.

This year the parade will take place on Sunday June 14, 2026!

A tradition since 1786, the Bunker Hill Day Parade commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill which was fought on Breed's Hill on June 17, 1775 in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The Battle of Bunker Hill was the first major battle of the American Revolution.

The annual Bunker Hill Day parade is a family event with a route all around Charlestown.

Parade begins at the intersection of Vine and Bunker Hill St. and down Main street, and concludes on Winthrop St. by the Charlestown Militia Training Field.

(Slush, ice cream, kids toy carts, cotton candy....the whole deal)

Parade starts at 12:30pm. (streets close for the annual road race at 9:15am & 10am)

Bunker Hill Day marks the anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill, also known as the Battle of Breed's Hill, on June 17 each year. This battle, which occurred in 1775, was part of the Siege of Boston. This siege took place during the American Revolutionary War, which is also known as the American War of Independence.

Check out the Bunker Hill Parade Facebook page for more information on the entire week's activities (June 9 - 16).

We've also put together a guide filled with more fun ideas about things to do in Boston with kids. Check it out to see what you should be adding to your summer bucket list!
