AlfieMoon Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 Given the stadiums a decent distance from the city centres and need to get there nice and early - what’s the gig with the tailgate party stuff? None of us will be driving. 😂 Can we just rock up with a cairy oot and join some locals for a perch at their spot? Quote
GLOSTA Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 (edited) Trains run for games from Boston South station... if you can afford the horrendous accommodation prices on Boston For Miami... my brother in law was at the Celtic game and says easy by Uber and a great fan zone Edited December 7, 2025 by GLOSTA addition Quote
PORTY Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 Boston to stadium 1 hour by train. Bars, cafes outside stadium. I think that they are putting on a bus service as well. Quote

Toepoke Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 Had a look at hiring a car from Boston for the day, about £80. Probably on a par with 4 or 5 people buying train tickets and a lot less hassle. Someone has to fall on their sword and stay sober though. Quote

Pretty sure car park space is about $75 or something as well. Quote
scottish and proud Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 I’d imagine it’ll be like a UEFA event where they (in this case FIFA) will take control of the entire stadium and surrounding area therefore I’d imagine the ability to rock up and ‘tailgate’ will be impossible. It’ll be FIFA controlled parking. The stadiums are designed to accommodate people for hours before the game if you can stomach the prices. Quote

Bzzzz Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Are there actually going to be that man locals/Americans in cars going to these games? I doubt the standard "culture" will apply in the same way as it would for the normal games they cater for... Quote

HyndlandUltras Posted April 28 Posted April 28 So are we re-igniting this thread now that tailgating is being allowed? Appreciate most folk will be taking public transport, but my experience of tailgates in the past is that some folk tend to organise “paid for” events with food/all you can drink cans etc. Could be a viable alternative as Patriot Place will be rammed pre-game. Gavowl Posted April 28 Posted April 28 For anyone going to Haiti game on with the Boston Common Coach Co, had an email y'day to say no tailgating allowed on the official stadium parking lots. However they have now arranged to park on an adjacent private lot near the stadium and expect that tailgating will be allowed on there. This may be subject to change due to local practices nearer the time. Apologies if any travellers on this coach were already aware. Quote
Lion Rampant Posted April 28 Posted April 28 That email was sent in advance of the announcement by the Boston Host Committee yesterday that tailgating would, in fact, be allowed around the stadium. Apparently they were citing Fifa policy but Fifa clarified that they had no objections so it's going to be allowed. Quote

For further info, I asked Boston Common if the bus would have toilet facilities and if the 5pm departure time would be sufficient, given the expected extra traffic. They kindly replied that the bus does have toilets, but are designated for emergency use only. (work that one out?) and they expect the journey to take 60 to 120 munutes. Hope they have got this right. Quote
bg72826 Posted April 29 Posted April 29 American fan here. I can't speak for others, but I'll be throwing a tailgate. Im going to bring lots of food and drink for everyone. Won't be charging a dime. No Scotland no party. Quote
adamntg Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Do we think the bizzies will be patrolling the tailgate parties carding 20 year Scots who are 6ft 3 and enjoying a small shandy with their dad? Quote
Alan C Posted April 29 Posted April 29 😂 Exactly the same position. Mine’s nearly 6’5” but still contending with the prospect of covert tactics. In danger of over shooting the runway….. Quote

Could you give us some insight into how it all works? We're on boarding group 2 for the trains to both matches so should get to the stadium in good time. Will we be able to get involved in the tailgaiting even if not coming by car? And have you any idea if we'd be able to bring a carry out with us on the MBTA? Cheers! Quote

And have you any idea if we'd be able to bring a carry out with us on the MBTA? Cheers! Hey. So I'm actually a bit of a noob when it comes to throwing a tailgate, but my plan is to bring as much food and drink as I can manage. I'll put up a sun shelter and wave the Scottish flag to attract folks. I will just hand out everything to folks. If you want to bring drinks, I'm sure anyone would be happy to add them to their coolers. I've heard that the T won't let you bring drinks on the train, I don't really know the rules on that. As for going to the parking lots, normally, you would be allowed in if you are just there. But FIFA being FIFA, who knows if they'll limit access to the lots to people who drove there or not. I just don't know. Overall, I would bring a 12-pack, keep it in a bag so its not obvious and walk into the parking lots looking for folks partying. No one will say "no, go away", especially if you bring some bevvies. Quote
Wayverider Posted Saturday at 01:04 AM Posted Saturday at 01:04 AM Keep in mind there are 25,000 parking spots for NFL games but it’s being reduced to 5,000 for the WC games. I take that to mean we shouldn’t expect the normal U.S. full tailgating culture (hordes of cars, tents, BBQs, TVs with satellite dishes, RV trailers, corn hole tournies, etc…). But it will make walking around with drinks in hand more permissive. And in the event stadium bars are charging $25 for a pint spontaneous gatherings of party goers with their own food and drinks will be more able to make their own fun. Quote
KevinP Posted Saturday at 07:33 AM Posted Saturday at 07:33 AM Does anyone know the usual NFL game prices inside the stadium for food and beer? Are we talking “expensive day out” prices, or “remortgage the house for two beers and a hot dog” prices? Quote
