Yes, you can put in "unknown" and then update it as and when you know where you'll be staying.

When you fill in your API prior to travel you'll put that information in anyway so no burning need to update the ESTA after application/approval.

Thanks for the reply.

Fair enough, but that's the question as it appears on the form.

You have to select yes to that if you've been to Cuba. This would result in your ESTA being denied, but this may be one of the questions that you can have a discussion about with DHS and if you'd been to Cuba prior to that date then they would possibly grant it.

However, my response was directed to a poster who had been to North Korea.

My other half visited Cuba in 2015 which she reported on her ESTA application yesterday afternoon.  Her ESTA was approved a couple of hours after applying for it with no further information requested.

I’d been to Cuba in 2015 and then applied for ESTA a couple of years ago and it got approved with no additional questions or anything. Exact same as the poster above.

I was in Cuba 2016, and my ESTA was approved immediately on the 2nd Jan.

I know of someone who didn't declare they had been to Cuba and got their application rejected. Better to be honest, I think the combination of coming from Scotland and visiting Cuba does not result in a red flag.

Was at USA Embassy in London for visa on Monday, couldn't get an ESTA as work in Iraq,  whole process at the embassy went very smooth, took about an hour and a half, they didn't ask me for any travel details, ie flights, hotels etc, only asked who i was travelling to America with and about where I worked in Iraq and what company I worked for, they advised the visa is approved and would be stamped into my passport and sent to my house within 5 working days

Check the paperwork carefully. Family holiday last year required 4 ESTAs. Autocorrect managed to mess up one of the kids date of birth. Didn't notice the mistake until about 4 days before travel. In theory you can apply for a new ESTA, but you can't have 2 active at once. Had to phone a call centre in the US and ask them to expedite the cancellation. This they did, but said they couldn't be sure how long it would take as someone elsewhere had to manually approve. All sorted with 24hrs to spare, but the stress was significant.

Anybody else encountered delays in collection of processing fee? Entered credit card details and got this message:

”THE PAYMENT STATUS COULD NOT BE DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. PLEASE CHECK BACK LATER FOR THE PAYMENT STATUS.”

Suppose I’ll just check back later but not sure how long to leave it.

Anyone on here affected ?

Scotland fans 'heartbroken' as travel permits to World Cup withdrawn last minute

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwy2yleex87o

Scotland football fans say they are devastated as last-minute changes to travel permits could prevent them from travelling to the World Cup.

UK citizens who want to go to the United States for up to 90 days without a visa need to apply to the country's Electronic System for Travel Authorization (Esta).

But dozens of fans who filled out the form have said on social media that their application status had changed this week from "approved" to "travel not authorised".

Some have told BBC Scotland News they could lose out on thousands of pounds in travel costs due to the changes, with Scotland's first World Cup game kicking off in less than two weeks.

Incredible lack of context here from the article eh.

They’re not saying they’re shocked it was changed to decline.

Have printed off our approvals just in case 😬

(Saw on FB it seems to be affecting people who hadn't entered a confirmed address where they are staying).

I'd just like to point out that when i flew from Glasgow to Houston in 2005 it was via Newark

When i got off the plane i was well worse than half cut and there was a huge queue at passport control

My flight to Houston was leaving in an hour and there was no way i was going to make it

I caused a scene - was let through - went out for a fag and spewed on the tarmac - then went in and got my flight to Houston

Changed days

That’s interesting. I keep wondering what the common thread is in this whole situation.

Seems to be suggesting it's only affecting Scotland fans , hard to see why though

There are quite a few right enough. Not quite a million yet though. It's a really shyty thing to happen to anyone at any time but at this late stage it's outrageous. Could be peoples slightly dodgy past catching up with them, or more likely US immigration just being a shower of cunts?

On this occasion a nicer guy you couldn’t meet. Zero criminal history.

Probably because we are the earliest to fly out. Wait for the all of the similar stories hitting the news over the next few days impacting English fans
