Wish I could have justified a slightly longer stay to really make the most of it, but them’s the breaks.

I did my panic on Friday after the draw of booking hotels the night before and night of the game at all potential venues and worry about filling the gap once I knew on Saturday evening. I've ended up keeping my hotels in Boston but going out to Salem in between games where it is miles cheaper for accommodation.

Having looked into it more I'm really happy I've gone with this. Looks like plenty of things to do, nice bars and restaurants, and easy enough to get into Boston.

So what are you looking at..maybe £13000-14000 ?Glad you can afford it but it has to be said that is an insane amount of money for the fitba.Suppose it's all relative to your income right enough.Enjoy.

Yeah it's an obscene amount but luckily not really all for the football, I turn 40 during the world cup, Orlando we booked as a summer holiday the day after we qualified with a view of me flying to a game and back but the draw in local terms to Orlando has meant more adding cost. Getting RTN flights to Orlando using virgin points for £1800 was the deal breaker.

Yeah its been all good things iv heard about Salem and quite a few Scots seemed to choose that to be their base as not too far from Boston. 

If we do get match tickets its not ideal to get back to after the game. Hopefully plenty trains/buses back to Boston then a taxi back to Salem if no other choice.

6 of us in airbnb in Everett, subsequently found we're only 10 minute walk from Stewarts Pub which is run by an Irish-Scottish couple who are looking forward very much to our visit!!  Are there any train schedules out to Foxborough for the Morocco game - I know they're used to Patriots games but I'd imagine there will be a bigger crowd requiring public transport than the usual car loving US folks?

We're in Boston 18th-20th (bought hospitality tickets to be sure we have one game at least) and then heading to (somewhere near) NY for probably 2 nights sightseeing and getting out of the way of the Ingerlund lot who will be arriving in Boston.  Then 2 nights Philly and home unless we hit Brazil tickets in the lottery or win Euromillions!!

If anybody is interested I’ve a ticket for the following flight that I don’t particularly want. Was the only one to take the chance before the fixture announcement, so getting it would mean I’m going on my own. 
 

Just looking for what I paid (£490) + name change fee (£80). Appreciate there are better deals to be had than a £570 flight from Dublin but worth posting on the off-chance it might interest somebody.

Yes apparently Boston are organising express trains from Boston to Foxborough on match day, you can only purchase a ticket apparently if you have a World Cup match ticket & they are not on sale (train tickets) until approximately March

Just the opening game for me.

Manchester to JFK on the 11th, staying a night in Manhattan.
Travelling through to Boston by bus on the morning of the 12th.
Two nights in the Revere Hotel just down from Boston Common, with the game obviously the 2nd night.
Bus back through to Manhattan on the morning of the 14th.
Fly back to Manchester overnight on the 15th.

I think we are just going to hire a car from jfk and drive early Saturday morning:  saves trying to catch bus or train.  I was planning on hiring a car for a few days in Boston anyways

Word of warning: driving in Boston is a pain in the fckin arse and parking is $$

I am just going to get the train both times in Boston, hoping the fanzone setup round the stadium is decent so will go early enough to miss the rush and soak up the WC atmosphere.

Will the atmosphere around the stadium for those without tickets be any better than in the Boston fanzone(s)? I doubt there will be large screens outside the stadium?? Also there will be express trains from Boston to Gillette Stadium for those holding match tickets so there has to be reduction in the normal stopping services which will greatly impact the schedule.

Cheers got told that from someone else. Plan would be to drive to the accommodation and park up as have parking there.  Wouldn’t be driving in downtown Boston.

What a bizarre and resentful response. Amazingly, you've somehow managed to miss that its not just a 'fitba' trip and its a birthday/holiday extravaganza with a lifetime of memories made for everyone. It sounds like, and will be, an incredible trip for everyone @Mazziessc
