Wait for the draw and take it from there. I'm probably just going to go over for one game as unless I win the lottery or rob a bank, the costs are just way too high to spend as long as I did for our full group stage duration in Germany last year. I think a fair few people might be on the same boat.

However if we get passed the group stage, then a trip back across the Atlantic for the R32 game would be on the cards.

I'm on low points , thinking of going over for the match v pot 4.

Hoping they don't have many travelling fans and get a ticket.

Knowing my luck it will be Ireland!

8/12 3rd placed teams qualify. That is well within our reach.

I couldn't miss that but we are moving up to a 3 to 3 1/2 week trip. That is probably what I am doing.

I did think about staying for the next round too but it's seriously mental money! £125 a Night Digs, £200 Day Spending Money for my Boy and Me and extra £150 for Travel Each adds on potentially around £2.5K!!! EYE WATERING!

Interested to get an idea on peoples travel plans

I'm landing in boston on the 8th june and coming back 29th june. travel internally is my plan. obvs might get lucky and we on east coast. but for example if we have a game in settle i will just arrive two days before and go back to boston day after game. I'm just hoping for a ticket for our opening game

Going to stay with my mate in Milwaukee for 4 or 5 days and travel to 1 game. Edinburgh to Chicago (via Iceland) coming in at about £500 return at the moment.

You would in that situation be cheaper to fly home then back out.

I did that at the Euros. Flew to Munich for the opener. Back home on the Saturday. Then out again on the Tuesday. Saved me three nights in hotels. The flights were relatively cheap.

I'll probably just make the opening two group games, depending on the fixtures.

I'm stretching my luck as it is leaving three kids at home!

To be honest, ten days away with Scotland is probably all my body can take anyway.

Group games 2 and 3 for us

I wasn't too bothered until 2 of the 3 pals I was at the Brazil opener in 98 with suggested we should go

I must be one of the few on here who would prefer Mexico as I've never been

That said, it 'looks like' games 2 and 3 from groupd K & L would be quite straightforward travel wise - As in return flight to a single destination and travel by road or train (US / CAN)

*Edit: As folk have said, the rest days between those games are the least

We have family over in New Jersey 20 minutes from the ground.  It’s crap and soulless though so no idea where you’d go for a beer in the run up or on the day other than NYC.

Depending on the draw maybe use that as a base and leave my wife with her sister whilst me and the wee lass get a game.

From a footballing perspective I’d prefer it be Mexico although the weather will be a bastard and not sure how safe it would be for an 11 year old.

Doe to the high likelihood of drawing a host nation, I have booked free canx hotels at 5 of the 6 opening match venues of their groups (Vancouver was too expensive)...and will worry about the other games after the draw. .

Stay in Porto these days, flight connections decent at the moment,  some direct to US and Canada cities and more options via Madrid and Lisbon, looking at hotels, some of the cities very expensive, was thinking may stay somewhere close-by and travel through day of the games, ie, game in Boston stay in Providence , game in Toronto stay in Hamilton,  agree with above, Vancouver very expensive

I don't know if we do have an increased chance of a Host Nation? It really depends a bit on what they do with the Play Off Teams and their Pots.

I can see how it would work for Germany. But with a game every 5 or 6 days in USA and the best part of a Day or more to travel each way. It would quickly become un-manageable for me. For instance...

Monday Game, Travel back Tues Noon, arrive Home Wednesday Noon. I would need to leave Thursday to get back in time for a Friday game.

Booked flights to New York on the night of the Denmark game along with various scenarios of cancellation free hotels in New York, Philly & Boston for the first few days. Heading out on the 12th for 2x weeks.

Plan is to just head on a road trip to somewhere cheaper in New England in between Scotland games to try save funds on hotels in the cities.

Hoping we get put in Group I, C, E or L

If not then i will be looking up internal flghts to get to the other side of the country...

I’ve live in the centre of Canada for the last 15 years. It’s a  16 hour drive to Vancouver , 20hours to Toronto.

Doesn’t matter where it ends up, just not Mexico, I’ll be driving somewhere to save costs on flights with 4 others to see a game. $100-$200 petrol each should do it.

Just the ticket prices alone are expensive enough. I’m seeing resale tickets in the several thousands already before the draw is even made, so hopefully will see you all turn up in the masses still. No Scotland, No party.

My plan is firming up. Wait on the Draw, take a punt on 1 of the Stadia where Scotland are playing 1st and book a return trip for there.

If I am unsure of which Stadia it will be, wait on the official announcement.

Either way, book on the Friday night or the Saturday.

Travel to 2nd and 3rd game and hopefully a KO or 2. Travel back to where we land for 1st game for a return flight 3/4 weeks later

Found any airlines who have flexibility in return tickets at good value or is it much of a muchness?

I've not looked to be honest. I was just going to pick a date at the end of the 1st 2 KO Rounds and come back from where we land. If we go out early. Find somewhere reasonable to holiday for a week.

Our plan is to stay with a mate in Texas. Obviously in the central region of group games so hopefully Scotland end up there. If not, I don’t think internal flights are too expensive (just now) to get to whichever city we have a game. Bit of a gamble but at least we are saving on accommodation.

Been into the travel agents today to see if there are any flexible tickets, not much to go on but they did say that option would be more expensive, better to look at a hub for in and out and book to arrival and departure date. :( Going to be an expensive trip.

Expensive is an understatement.Rich man's World Cup i'm afraid.Either rich or willing to put themselves  about £5000 in debt on the old credit cards. So many guys i know who travel to most away games are finding this is a step too far and yet there are guys making plans to go who don't even go to  the home games. The old glory hunters syndrome. It's always the way right enough.🤔

Once in a life time. £6K from Me, £4K from the Boy. 4 Week Trip. Money I don't have but, it needs to be done if I want to see Scotland in a World Cup. I missed France.

£5K each and that's a well tight budget.

You can't buy memories....
