Throughtout all the ups and downs its great to see him smiling and giving us all some fantastic memories with more to come!

Do you know how you know the other night was special? Seeing the mask of somberness crack on the pitch. Watching Clarke with a big grin, tears in his eyes hugging his players, the way he celebrated the goals and all. Brings tears to my eyes. That alone says what the other night meant to every Scotsman.

Over a 1/4 of a century Clarke took us where all of the others combined did not. Until the days of Clarke it was so often, so near, yet so far

I have been incredibly frustrated with him at times and if I am honest would not have been unhappy if he had been punted. But as the OP says, he has delivered something no manager has been able to in 27 years , so deserves massive credit.
People might argue that he had better players  than other managers, but unless those managers were given the chance to manage this team then absolutely nobody knows if they would have done better.
I hope Tuesday’s result gives Clarke and the team the confidence to get at their opponents more often rather than sit back and take pressure.

He’s done what no other Scotland manager has - he took us to 3 Finals - he deserves massive praise and huge thanks

I agree with you. His approach is bloody frustrating at times and I am hoping desperately we don’t see a third awful performance at a finals after all the hard work of getting there. However, you can’t argue with his record, which is sensational.

Do we have better players? Maybe. But not all over the team. Previous managers had better options in central defence and up front.

Is his approach really that bad? I'd say its not always easy on the eye but you won't find many gung ho managers nowadays especially when we have a team mixed with excellent top level players and players who will never reach the top levels.

There are always a lot of passionate fans on here who convince themselves their opinion is right, its often posted too quickly after a difficult loss which is when they are full of emotion...............we've all done it.

I made peace with the fact Clarke was going nowhere until this campaign was done and I wanted to see how it went and I still can;t believe it. He deserves a shot at the World Cup IMO, he says himself the aim was a world cup but the squad he had needed more caps and experience, they have that now.

He will never beat Billy Stark's record. 🙂

A fantastic achievement and if he does stay after the WC then could easily get up to a 100 games as manager.

2028 is a great target for him, still young enough and quite honestly cannot see anyone else who could take this on.

Don't want to jinx it, but the 2028 Euros is almost a certainty for qualification. It would be one of the lowest stress campaigns he'd have. I'd be extending till then if I were him, and also be looking for a sizeable wage increase. He deserves it.

Never ever wavered on him. Never doubted him once (honestly). Been 100% on him at all times from day 1. Always understood his plan even if it didn’t always work.

He was the best candidate for the job, exactly what we needed and make the SNT accessible to all and ended the dark days of the Old Firm controlled match squad / coaching teams.

Its not just the odd defeat that I have been frustrated with, its a number of things that have been mentioned on the board already. Yes , I get that there are times we need to be cautious, but we look a different team when we actually look up for the game , and I personally don’t think we do that often enough. All i am saying is the team and Clarke should have more confidence in their ability as that type of effort gets the crowd onside, you could physically feel the the connect between the fans and the team the other night and I have no doubt whatsoever that it was instrumental in helping produce that performance.

Its bloody hard at Hampden watching some of the stuff we have endured, losing faith is understandable . I take my hat off to those who can keep permanently positive. I used to be like that,  but 25 years going to every home game and countless away games kinda grinds you down at times.

However my original post was to applaud Clarke, not berate him. Despite the criticism he has produced what was asked and no one can take that away. Hearing his interview only the hardest heart could fail to be moved by his passion . That alone should send his strongest critics homewards tae think again.

I get the impression this will be his swansong. Clarke has always emphasised it was his goal to get us to a World Cup and now he has done it. He dropped heavy hints before qualifying started that this would be his last campaign and even now that we have qualified he has said it is 75- 25 that this will be his last campaign.

My hometown. Know the first lad, good Killie fan.

Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston do not badly for 3 small towns joined onto each other.

Steve Clarke, Bobby Lennox, Billy Gilmour, Roy Aitken etc.

In fact, Clarke, Doak and Gilmour all North Ayrshire lads.

No point qualifying then simply cowering out of these tournaments with lacklustre powder puff performances

If I had one message for Mr Charisma it would be to play with the anticipation of success and not the fear of failure

The words neck, mark and blowtorch come to mind. Not necessarily in that order

You are one miserable bastard.

Suppose supporting Hibs will do that to you, especially just now. Must be hard having such an inferiority complex.
