Saturday. Hearts have got a pretty favourable run of fixtures coming up. Not sure about Celtic’s but I know we’ve got the Old Firm game followed by Aberdeen twice back to back which is a pretty tricky run. I’d fancy Hearts to still be top come the end of January. Β

momentum’s important… Β i am hoping that rangers dont win at the weekend. Β A draw would suit.

rangers are winning by the odd goal but still winning.

Rangers have been on a roll for about 6 weeks and getting the job done.

HEarts have been struggling through whats been an easy run of fixtures and now have some big injury problems and a very tough run including a trip to Ibrox.

Celtic look a poor side but not as chaotic as under Nancy.

i expect Rangers to close the gap on Hearts. Β Key will be getting shankland and devlin back having not fallen away.

I did this calculation on the European thread but this thread seems more appropriate - now updated to today.

Β

League table ranked by 'points relative to last year at 28 games'

Club [pts now] <> [pts 2025, played 28]Β  (+/-)

Hearts 60 > 28 (+32)

Motherwell* 50 > 29 (+21)

Falkirk 39 > Ross County 33 (+6)

Dundee* 27 < 27 (0)Β

Rangers 56Β  <Β  57 (-1)

Hibs 45 < 48 (-3)

Kilmarnock 21 < 26 (-5)

St Mirren* 23 < 32 (-9)

Livingston 13 < St Johnstone 26 (-13)

Celtic* 54 < 70 (-16)Β

Dundee United** 29 < 47 (-18)Β

Aberdeen** 28 < 47 (-19)

Β

* Played 27 (i.e.Β a game in hand)

**Β Played 26 (i.e. 2 games in hand)

This is getting really interesting now !! Will Hearts bottle it, can Celtic, with the worst Celtic side in 20 years finish top, and can rangers under Rohl, manage to put a run and win the league...

I honestly would put my mortgage on Celtic. Martin O'Neil has been here before and he knows what it takes, and how to grind out results...

Hearts.. Can they handle the pressure now, few injuries, and Celtic now breathing down their necks, and , they are new to this,Β  another club other than Celtic or Sevco winning the Scottish PremiershipΒ  !!!Β

Sevco, it's the manager that has the least amount of experience in Scottish football, and they play Celtic and Hearts away.....

So...

Celtic

HeartsΒ

Sevco....

Rangers & Hearts do not have the Scottish Cup to worry aboutΒ

Rangers also have the potential to be better than their recent resultsΒ  - see the last two games against CelticΒ

Any statistician will therefore tell you Celtic are the outsiders of three ....Β
