Very hard to leave out ronaldo from a best ever. Hes a narcissistic cunt but nobody can argue his talent. For me its impossible to pick a best 11 because some of the best players played when the game was completely different. For example Maradona and Pele played in a time where kicking players was almost accepted as long as you got the ball and they played in an era where players weren't overloaded with sport science and they weren't supremely fit

Excellent post VA. Players today would be diving all over the park had they played in the days of Pele, DeStefano, Eusebio, and so on... Agree with Ronaldo though.. 

I would also add Buffon to that list..

I actually don't like it when players are labelled as the best ever nowadays.....too many generatioms have passed to say who is actually the best

Depends how you categorise "best ever" 

There is best in their day - Beckenbauer and Moore

There have been far better players in those kinda positions after them - Baresi, Baggio, Matthaus

You could probably even argue that Willie Miller or Terry Butcher were on a par with Moore 

Best of all time - can't argue with the remainder with the exception of Cafu and Yashin probably

This was the season before I watched Aberdeen regularly. Is there a reason why Rougvie was playing right back instead of Kennedy? Iirc Rougvie tended to play on the left.

I can't assess how good Mr Moore was because most information we have been fed is distorted via a rose tinted lenses so I think it would be hard to be objective about him (though fair play to those who are attempting to be). I just can't believe he wasn't/isn't over-hyped because he played for a certain team in a certain tournament.

And anyway... what about George Best?

Kennedy was injured and done following an accidental injury at the semi final

Fergie had him on the bench that night so he could get a (winners ❤️) medal as a mark of respect / recognition

Rougvie was comfortable on either side

I have no idea how you managed to watch our team then and become a Rangers fan, though 😉😂🙈

Just looked, apparently the real Ronaldo left Real Madrid 18 years ago, quite frankly that's utterly preposterous. How the hell has 18 years went by since then.

Maradona and Zidane, outstanding players, but which one of them would like to do the nuts and bolts of tracking back in this setup? It's not happening. This team is just everyone's favourite front six/big names with a highly regarded back line. Can't take it seriously until tactical appreciation or faormation argument is taken into consideration.

They should have done a generational players of all time. You can't really name them.cuz the game has changed over the years. I just read about the Soviet Oleg Boniak, apparently the best striker in the world in the late 70s and early 80s... Just saying like. I read his stats, some fuckin player btw...
