And not only Peter Shilton but also Dino Zoff, Pat Jennings, a Colombian goalie in 2018 and Egyptian goalkeeper have all played in a World Cup tournament over 40 and Jim Leighton was almost 40 in 1998. syecosse Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 I get the Craig Gordon debate, I get he has a lot of credit in the bank for his history, injury has robbed him of a better career, he still pulls off amazing saves yes and especially it seems the less he plays, but also i think people tend to forget he has mistakes in him England and Holland games in the past and recently was it Belarus game, if we are honest if Gunn had made that mistake we would never hear the end of it, also Hearts fans all over X had been saying that he should of retired last summer( i have not been watching him for Hearts but read comments from a number of fans not a few). I do think the world cup will be a great end to his career, and the fact that he is getting gametime is something. Gunn when played had a very good qualifiers pulled off some amazing saves but again has his mistakes and at his age should be playing. Quote

I think i looked Rangers had 21 players on loan Mostly youth. Yes more should be involved but the youngsters maybe better getting regular gametime on loans. The bigger picture is that the SFA do not let u16s play, Rangers had asked for 2 15 year old youngsters to play but got rejected, i read that in England the have had 3 appearances from 15 year olds mainly Max Dowman at Arsenal. The issue of 15 year olds playing is thorny as they are being asked to work as professional football players where they cannot actually hold that status and also cannot be paid appropriately. They are also mentally and physically children, so there are clearly ethical concerns to be considered. Having said that, I don’t personally think the SFA should be banning 15 year olds from playing, 15 year olds play sport against adults all over the country every weekend in an amateur capacity without incident. There are numerous sports where 15 year olds (or younger) have been world or Olympic champions. The key is ensuring proper controls are in place, which shouldn’t be beyond a club like rangers nor the SFA themselves. In terms of the specific kids involved, Kyle Glasgow currently considers himself Portuguese I believe. Quote

He had a very good game against today. If he can rediscover that form when he broke into the Rangers 1st team and before he moved to Everton then a very good backup to have for Hickey. Much prefer that than having to go for Ralston or McCrorie who are both massive downgrades on Hickey. Quote

BGD was celebrating on the pitch after the Denmark game but is still out and probably will be for another few months. I just hope it's not his ACL as he'd almost certainly miss the World Cup. I had a quick look at other common knee injuries and they all have a shorter recovery time (though could still be touch and go for the WC) Quote

James Forrest sounds like he was the better. Mcgregor, Welsh, Donovan and Murray the others. Quote

Whilst Patterson has been pretty solid in the last few games, you can see he still desperately needs games to get match sharp. Quote
