A lower epl side would be perfect. Full season playing every week in the epl would be great.

I think Miller probably wasn't too far off the mark when he said he could be the best Scottish player in six months. I think he'll become undroppable. Some of his passing against Iceland, especially, was outstanding.

I'll reserve judgement on Miller. Not so many huge clubs seem to be linked to him. The only EPL club linked where perhaps Sunderland ?  I know our league isn't highly thought in England, but I find it quite strange that there's not a stack of lower EPL or top championship clubs in for him as the fee needed to most of them is quite small. Though like most here,  I would prefer he goes abroad. He certainly has a lot to do to be a first pick for Scotland nevermind undroppable.

I'm guessing Miller's agent has lined up a deal with his club of choice and they are just biding their time to get the best deal. It seems odd teams are not making approaches, even with low bids so this could be the explanation.

I'm more worried about the physical side. You'd have to think he is fully fit now and match sharpness will come with friendlies. I think we will know quite quickly if his body is up to it. I don't see it happening but a loan at a lower level might be a good move. Trying to go straight back to EPL pace straight away may be too difficult. I can't think of anyone who hasn't been seriously affected by that severity of hamstring injury so I'm not optimistic but hope I'm wrong.

Our right side is going to be a daunting prospect once Doak and Hickey are simultaneously fit. This will solve the lopsided problem.

We have too many high quality players to choose from when everyone is fit!

Still leaves us short of quality keepers, centre half's and strikers but otherwise we're fine.

Maybe Motherwell are putting too high a price tag on him or the player is selective about where he wants to go.

I don’t think he’s particularly in any rush either. Whilst he’s at Motherwell he’ll be getting game time and he only has a year left on his deal so he’ll have plenty of options.

From all my decades of watching Scottish prospects, i've never been so confident that he'll make the right move

Oné grabbed a couple of goals last night for Sheffield Utd and his new manager had this to say:

"Ryan has been one of the players that has been investing the most in the pre-season. He can play in the front three positions, the second striker if we need to go to that shape. He's intense, he reads the pressure. He has quality and he can score goals. So if he continues developing as he is, then he could be a very important player for us this season."

Sounds promising.

He's got the physical attributes if he can develop his game. I get the feeling he could have a high ceiling but not reach it until later in his career. Loan might be best. They seem to have loads of strikers.

Very promising.  He would be the forward from our youngsters I'd be most confident of playing in a top league due his pace, strength, skill & finishing ability.

I agree , if he keeps progressing, he could have a very high ceiling.  Let's see if he can feature regularly,  even if that's just from the bench this season. If so,he may not need the loan.

A couple of observations so far with friendlys

Ryan One on the scoresheet today again, Blades fans comments reckon he could hit 30 goals this year and we will be lucky to keep him apparently is developing really well. 

Harrison Ashby and Nathan Patterson both started there freindlys today for Newcastle and Everton.

Sam Chambers and Rory Mahady on the bench for Leeds.

Bobby Wales got his first goal for Swansea, fans also raving about his first appearance.

Sam Chambers looks to be a tremendous talent. One we'll need to focus on in case he goes elsewhere.

Two goals for George Hirst today in Ipswich Town's friendly against Blau-Weiss Linz of Austria.

Ciaran Slicker not even on the bench, which either means he's being lined up for a loan move somewhere (hopefully) or he isn't even in the picture at all. Or he's injured.

If One scored 30 goals in the championship at 19 he would a) be our starting striker by the end of the season and b) be getting a transfer to a top 6 EPL team.

I think 10 goals would be a very very good stretch target for the season.

I agree with the sentiment, I was also trying to point out that the expectations are a bit unrealistic, but he did start 2 games last year with another 10 off the bench. I think an increase in those numbers plus some additional goals (I think he only got 1 last season) would be progress. Young players progress much faster in England though where they have proper development pathways so he may exceed those expectations.

Yeah, God knows we need someone to break thru. Some decent prospects who need games but we don't really know if they will make it. It can happen as quick as 12 months sometimes.
