bdgsct Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Off topic but I wonder if Askou would be a good option for our next manager. Seems to be very tactically savvy. I expect he'll want to stay in club football but his stock isnt so high that he is unachievable. Plays a style of football that I expect would suit our players better than the current approach. Quote
csinclair Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Craig Halkett stretchered off. That might be any hopes he had of the world cup gone. Quote

He's the type of player Scotland are in dire need of because we don't have enough attacking wife players. Will Killie hang on to him or is there interests brewing for him? Quote

They were solid backups if we got other injuries. Shame. Leonard will probably get another crack of the whip, but Halkett is about to turn 31. He might struggle to convince Clarke, at least, that he should be included for the Nations League or Euro qualifiers. Quote

In my opinion I feel the door is just a little ajar for someone to make a late run at a central defender spot or two considering Hanley has dropped off the radar and Souttar is not in a great place just now. Halkett an Findlay would be two of those in contention but sadly not now for Halkett. Edited May 10 by Caledonian Craig Quote

The reality is it was highly unlikely either would have made the final 26 anyway . Ideally Souttar gets a game for Rangers before the end of the season, but that's looking doubtful as he's not even a sub today. As for Hanley, well he played yesterday, though that's irrelevant to a certain extent as Clarke would pick him no matter what. Quote

csinclair Posted May 10 Posted May 10 If Rangers have any sense they should give Curtis more gametime next season but knowing them they'll go out and sign some EFL reject Quote

Burj_Alba Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Didnt see McKenna in the Dinamo Zagreb squad and cannot see him listed as injured. Anybody know what's wrong with him, DZ celebrating their championship with a home win. Quote

To my mind, tactical nous is essential for an international coach. I wouldn't be against Askou getting the job, whenever it becomes available, but it is a huge role and I'm not sure he's big enough a figure yet. Quote
