I'm not a Catholic and wouldn't agree with him on everything but he has consistently advocated on behalf of the vulnerable, the refugees, the poor, has called us to care for the environment and away from violence. There will be the usual complaints about Catholic social teaching on many issues but his voice has been compassionate, humble, humane. So very different to many of our current political leaders.

Ultimate respect shown...

Pope Francis seemed like a good guy, I hope the conclave choose a suitably progressive successor.

I'm a lapsed Catholic, not religious in the slightest now but grew up going to Chapel every Sunday with my mum/grandparents/sister/brother and went to a Catholic school. 

From the outside looking in, i thought he was a very wise man who wasn't scared to voice his opinions on the far right who are very loud just now. 

Will be the usual bigots who are loving an old man dying but he seemed like a genuinely nice man.

It wasn't trump dressed up as a bunny. Although, if he knew that would make him look more sexy to StirlingEgg then he might give it a go?

It reminded me of a Trigger Happy TV sketch. I was waiting for the rabbit to punch him and run away. He becomes more ridiculous every day . Does not seen appropriate to mention the Pope’s death at that point, there surely could have been a better setting.

I was in Rome again this weekend and it really is a place of stunning beauty.  Opulent.  No interest in seeing the pope, so spent Easter Sunday  kicking about the piazza navona and the markets at the campo fiori.
