Mark Mcp Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Any ideas where the best bars are in Warsaw? Any potential meeting points would be? First trip to Poland so any help would be appreciated. Cheers Quote
mambudu Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Warsaw has decent bars spread all round the city but if it's your first trip to Warsaw I'd recommend a pub crawl from Nowogrodzka to Nowy Swait. Nowogrodzka also has some great pubs like Jabeerwocky, Kufle i Kapsle and AYZL. Nowy Swait has a lot of bars in the side streets off it like Och Ach and PiwPaw beer heaven (over 100 beers on tap). The walk itself is only 20min, but you'll take a lot longer with all the pubs. For great cheap food and litre beers go to U Szwejka or Bazyliszek. If you want more hipstery stuff go to Hala Koszyki, a food market with some great cheap eats. For after drinking Kebab King is boss. Kebab and a beer for £7/8. Don't openly/visibly drink in the streets. Polish police can be difficult. Quote
Rich NATA Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Mark, Warsaw is a great city. There are plenty of options in the old town (obviously) and on and around the southern end of Nowy Swiat street. For clubbing, there are quite a few on Mazowiecka street, but not sure what the score is for Sunday and Monday nights. On match day... Nowy Swiat runs north-to-south from the Old Town to Rondo-Charles-De-Gaulle. There is a metro station On Nowy Swiat, which takes you to the stadium (two stops, I think) or you can walk across the river Vistula to the stadium (it's about a 2km walk). Forgive me, but I cannot help but take the opportunity to raise this... I urge anybody with any interest in football culture to visit the Czarna Koszula Bar at KS POLONIA WARSAW. A proper fan bar at the oldest football club in Poland. Based on personal experience, the will be a warm welcome. The warmth of welcome by the club was a world away from the cold-as-f*cking-ice staff at Legia. The Polonia stadium is located just north of the old town (opposite the Ibis Stare Miasto). Follow this route from the old town square and it will take you past some striking murals on Konwiktorska street. Sometimes they refer to the football club; sometimes to the Polish Resistance and Uprising. Then go through the main gates, past the fountain, in the front door and turn left 🍺🍺🍺 Closed on Sunday's, but I believe they are open on Monday's from 11am. Quote
