That's your opinion He isn't. It isn't even close. I'm an ex-Manchester United fan. I know what he does. For the record, Adams has 10 goals in Italy, McTominay has 13. McTominay played as a centerback for 15 matches. It seems like that's more acceptable than playing him as a number 9. Maybe playing McTominay up front (not talking about you) is too advanced for Scotland fans. Most are still railing against three at the back, even though Scotland's previous 4 tournaments have come from playing with a three. Four at the back was successful back in 1992. I wouldn't play Adams or Dykes or any of the players in the "strikers" column. If that means playing McTominay as a number 9 and McGinn as a number, 10. Fine. Anyway. I've said my piece. If you disagree, fine. Hopefully Clarke doesn't. I never said Adams is a better finisher than McTominay. You said he wasnt a goalscorer, im pointing out the number of goals he has scored in the same league as McTominay for a much lesser side. If he wasnt a goalscorer then he wouldnt have scored those goals. Ive not heard many on here say that McTominay categorically couldnt play up front which is the argument you keep coming back to. Most are saying his best position is the one where he plays for us and Napoli. If we were to play 5 mids and McTominay up front, who would your midfielders be? Do you think the 5th midfielder, ie not Gilmour, Ferguson, Doak or McGinn is significantly better than Adams or any of our other strikers. Significantly better enough to justify playing our best player out of position? Because thats the real question. If for example Lennon Miller breaks through next year and makes a real big claim to start for Scotland then Clarke is faced with either moving somebody forward, like McTominay or leaving out one of his better players. In that scenario moving McTominay becomes a much more sensible option. Quote

When Juve come calling, it's a difficult one to turn down for any Italian. I also think Napoli will need to improve their squad to be able to compete on 2 fronts next season Quote
