No idea of prices of tickets with todays news, but I do know Edinburgh hotels have jumped up to +£500 a night for a room.

I know it’s sale on demand, but that’s absolutely criminal, I got 2 x rooms in Musselburgh Travelodge this morning for £87 each per night, then it wouldn’t process my payment, sent me back and it was over the 500 mark.

It really should be illegal to charge those kinds of prices, but it lines the fat cats pockets, so it’ll never change.

I’ve got the same hotel booked for the rugby in November for £97.50 a night.

blame the left wing Edinburgh Council.  Its purely a function of supply and demand.

unfortunately the commies in Edinburgh Council didnt like air bnb people making lots of cash so brought in regulation and licence it… without giving out any licenses.

whats happens when you restrict supply…. Prices through the roof.

another wheeze and hat i have noticed is doubles by default and service charge in drinks by default.
can easily be £30 for a round of three drinks and more if it’s cocktails.

There's a hotel in Manchester getting slated on twitter. People received emails stating there booking wasn't secured because of a technical issue, when the customers went back in to book......the price has quadrupled

That's what should be illegal.

I have a friend who has a flat in Edinburgh that he uses when he comes to Edinburgh, and was going to ask him if I could use it if I got tickets. Before I got that far he txted a WhatsApp group we are in saying he got bloody hospitality tickets for the gig through a rugby connection..

So, had to consider plan B . No way I am paying those hotel prices so had to think of a way to get home. My daughters boyfriend picked her up from Murrayfield after Taylor Swift Concert so I thought if i bunged him some money he might get us too. Then,  last night , my daughter texts asking if I would get out my bed early on Saturday to join the  great Oasis ticket scrum as it was her and her boyfriends 10 th anniversary on the Saturday night and how fantastic it would be if they got tickets.

Sigh.

So not only does it look like i have no  accommodation or travel , if I do get tickets I will need to give them to her 🙄

I paid 200 quid a night in Edinburgh for the weekend before the Oasis gigs back in March so it's no surprise to see how ridiculous the prices are now, albeit that was for an apartment rather than a hotel.

It's baffling that they've got gigs all through July yet the Edinburgh ones are on slap bang in the middle of the cities busiest time of the year.

Was lucky enough to get a flat by Leith docks during the Fringe at £1200 per week with parking as well.

Basically minutes from a tram stop which took us into the centre in 15 minutes.

We usually see some shows in the evening and go visit the coastal towns and villages during the day and I sometimes manage a round of golf or even take in a local football match.

We had looked at hotels but were totally priced out of it.

Did go for a pint in between shows and was £6.50 at one of the few bars left on Rose Street but I guess that's the norm nowadays in Edinburgh centre, though discovered soon after there was a Weather spoons only 5 minutes away on George Street😅

There’s still a few reasonably priced Airbnbs in the Dunfermline area. Probably about the same distance to Murray field as Musselburgh is.

Last time I was in Amsterdam the hotel had my flight details so emailed when I was in the air to add another €50 on to the price claiming they’d contacted me before I’d arrived, refused to pay and demanded to speak to the manager. When they “couldn’t” contact him I just unpacked my bag on to the couch in reception and told them I’d be comfortable here till he arrived. About a hour later I was given my room for my original price as the guy was doing me a favour 😆

Re hotels - I would be tempted to book them with free cancellation if you can and then cancel as late as possible- hotels in Dublin just as greedy though between a low number of hotel rooms and hotels being utilised to house refugees i am paying 250 a night for fr and sat for the England game next weekend - had it booked within seconds of the fixtures being announced

in fact it’s the 1st thing I do when the fixtures come out - book home hotels if it’s a fri or sat game

I don’t mind Oasis, some of their songs are decent but they, along with the Beatles are the most overrated band in history

The big reunion will go one of two ways. They could follow Take That and go onto become more popular than they were the first time round or take the Spice Girls approach and it’ll be a disaster. I’d bet good money on the outcome being the latter though

Why Liam is even entertaining Noel defies logic considering his success with Beady Eye and as a solo artist

Once the divorce settlement is complete expect Noel to spit the dummy and throw the baby out with the bath water again

I remember what it was like the last time they played at Murrayfield and quite frankly I wouldn’t thank you for a ticket

Well, in putting them together there, you have certainly overrated Oasis.
