What a career though, especially these last 5 years.

Yes having a back operation then playing in the Olympics! The rest of us can put our backs out then struggle to put on a sock...

There was some talk amongst the BBC team about Murray's future and the influence he could have in GB sport. I would love to think there would be a legacy for Scottish tennis and Scottish sport more generally.

Must be hard to wind down from being a professional sportsman. Hopefully he'll be around in the background somehow like you say.

Iv heard it mentioned he’s looking to set up an elite tennis academy ideally in Dunblane or central Scotland

I hope so. I don't want his legacy to be hijacked by the UK with nothing in Scotland. Maybe John Swinney could make him Minister for Sport...or that say Murray's going to be our first President when we become an independent republic!

More and more information coming out about the boxing controversy. All of it siding with the IOC's decision so far. I'll have to re-evaluate the weight i give certain sources if this continues.

Away from the boxing.

Femke Bol=Superwoman of the track.

Aye I watched it live, was weird the introductions as they came out from behind the screen things.

She came through like a locomotive.

It was an action-packed day in the Olympics and the best event was right at the end with Men's 100-meter final. Noah Lyles wins the gold by the tightest of margins.

Incredibly tight from first to last in the 100m. Perhaps even more surprisingly was have a photo finish for bronze/silver in the triathlon relay!

Anyone watching the men's pole vault? He looked miles above his previous attempt, also a world record!!

Incredible. I love the camaraderie in these types of event, genuine desire from other vaulters that Duplantis would get a new world record.

Incidentally have any TAMBers ever done the pole vault? I guess it's the sort of event you learn at an athletics club - certainly didn't do it at school.

Wonder what other events or sports you start off doing that lead to that 🤔 Maybe all round athleticism and the high jump? Quite specific equipment required, maybe it goes back to medieval times where brave souls vaulted over the moat and castle walls...Kind of odd seeing the King of Sweden stand up to applaud it.

Incredible to see the show of emotion from Djokovic finally winning gold. Olympic tennis wasn't seen as a big deal when it started, but it clearly meant a lot to him.

I think the way Duplantis is going they'll have to make longer poles and higher pole vault frames frames.

Maybe even a parachute on his back for his descent!

😁 Controversial parachute! Be good to have a games where anything was allowed, inc unlimited drugs, just to see what can be achieved.

There's an organisation planning an "Enhanced Games" in 2025, if you're interested: https://enhanced.org/

The first of several Scotland v Norway encounters this week in a few minutes as Josh Kerr takes on Ingebrigsten...

Lots of big talk from both of them! Seems a bit wide open this one. Neil Gourley too.
