It's probably worth waiting to see what the actual cause was - a lone wolf; a member of a organised group; a false flag? The latter is unlikely, IMO.

The suspect has been killed (appears to be by the secret service), along with one person in the audience. It's possible that person killed in the audience got the bullet.

I would like to see the ground hasn’t been laid for this assassination attempt but words and deeds matter. The American political landscape is toxic and the shooter has achieved what they probably didn’t want to happen. Perhaps a landslide victory for Trump. 
 

When Paul Pelosi had his skull fractured by an intruder, Trump mocked him and his wife Nancy.

Just for clarity. I’m not condoning this assassination attempt. .

Wow, pretty insane thing to wake up to.

It probably wasn't going to happen anyway but there is no chance of salvaging the polarisation of American politics.

 

I wonder what the story of the shooter is. Some crazed democrat, another radicalised culture warrior, Qasem Soleimani sympathisier, there's been misinformation regarding Epstein and him lately too.

Conspiracy theorist seem to be getting a lot of thing right lately, it really is dangerous times and unless trump is killed or biden is "done awa with" this election is over,,, say what you will about trump,, they have tried to ruin him financially, lock him up and kill him when really he could have just had an easy life and retire,, his will cant be questioned and for that alone must be worth something,,, scary times when i believe that America needs trump to win this election

My guess is if Trumps PR use the top image as part of the campaign it will act against him. That image is the preserve of the military and iconic.

No one sits down and says I have a great idea shoot me in the ear from 100+ meters... I have heard some crazy ideas but that is up there. The margin by which Trump survived there is very small. Trump is so lucky to be alive right now it is mind blowing. He really is a lucky guy. It does not get closer than that...

 I said ‘ possibility’ , I dont think you need to be a conspiracy theorist to throw in another suggestion to the list of reasons. I am not actively promoting the possibility , just saying nothing would surprise me. Trump is most definitely a shoo in now. 

There is no good guy/ bad guy in this election, to most sane folk its just bad and badder, with folk falling on the side they are most affiliated with politically . I personally dont think its Biden OR Trump pulling the strings in either camp .  

Chances are it was as just as it says on the tin, a demented nut case, but you reap what you sow and America is now seeing the consequences . Innocent folk dying and its probably only going to get worse. 

Dont worry, my time on this thread is temporary. Will leave American politics to the big boys 😉

The main problem with the miss-on-purpose theory is, the snipers returning fire didn't miss. Getting your actual brains blown out in front of multiple eye-witnesses doesn't seem likely.

Trump's ear could be taken care of with the same techniques in the WWF or WWE or whatever it is called now.

We have a plausible picture of the "bullet" though, I was reading what digital photographer professionals were saying about the camera and the looking at shutter speed, the ballistic velocity of an AR15, it all seems fine. I guess the only technicality is you're not really seeing the "bullet" but the air displacement caused by the bullet. This is commensurate with other pictures when folk have tried to take pictures of bullets.

I'd not listen to me though, i'm not a ballistic expert. The last camera I used was one attached to a telescope in Tenerife.

Yeah, there is so much speculation these days that you really do not know what to believe ,  and  martyrs are not restricted to ISIS. But it’s pretty crazy to think it’s anything other than what it seems.

I just lost interest when we got put out, not watched much since.

It does give folk who are full of certainty and absolutists an opportunity to indulge themselves though so all good. We've all been there at some point.
