GroundsKeeper Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) I am booked for Lisbon anyway but has Ronaldo retired from international football ? Heard conflicting reports Maradona, PELE , then Ronaldo for me Edited July 12, 2024 by GroundsKeeper Quote
Orraloon Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 He isn't even the best Portuguese player ever, he isn't even the best Ronaldo. Quote
Bristolhibby Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Not hearing he’s retired. But wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t play against us. Unless he fancied a free flight back to Portugal to see family. J Quote
AlfieMoon Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 I think it’s clear from the euros that they’re at the stage they’d be better without him. Hopefully he stays on. Quote
wanderer Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 (edited) The official media tag line is he played his last "European Championships game for Portugal", but nothing has been said yet on will he quit out right, but if you go by murky rumors, its unlikely he will go to the States if Portugal qualify. Daryl Broadfoot was talking about this on Off the Ball on Sunday, and gave it the "from a financial point of view" the SFA would be hoping Portugal bring Ronaldo and Poland bring Lewandowski. The only real record he has to break with Portugal is Eusébio's 9 goals in a single World Cup, which even if he does hang around for the next World Cup, he will not even come close to equaling let alone breaking (he may break the Portugese record for in all World Cup's) Chances are he will play one more game in Lisbon as his "farewell" and then call it quits Edited July 16, 2024 by wanderer Quote

Fairbairn Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 Read something during the tournament that Ronaldo had apparently told Maritinez he wants to get to 250 caps (currently on 212, with 130 goals! 😳). Quote
dan cake Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 Fully expecting him to be playing in America at the World Cup just not the games in Vegas 👀 Quote
