On paper, probably the 74 squad in terms of players for each position (but realty is, it was maybe 3 years to early for Kenny, Jordan and McQueen.... and it was certainly to late for Law... and Jimmy Johnstone was coming off the back of a season where he hardly kicked a ball for Celtic, and was not long left for being a Celtic player afterwards).

78 squad peaked in 77, and may have taken it had McQueen and McGrain been fit.

And Jardine. He was there but he wasn't fully fit. That's three quarters of a world class defence that we were missing.

86 squad was full of players who played in European Cup finals with aberdeen,liverpool,Everton and Dundee United. The remaining players were with old firm or Barcelona (stevie archibald). Imagine saying that now.
