In the search for hope for tonight I watched ROI against France.

Thinking logically ( I know, I know!!) France are better than Spain and we are better than ROI. And yet ROI came very close to earning a draw with their only failing being one mistake that caused the goal-- as good as it was executed.

Beginning to persuade myself that on a raucous rainy night in front of 52,000 hairy erased Scots we might just relive our 1984 ( Dalglish) victory over Spain

Now that was one of our great nights against the then Euro champs.

I have said in here many times, we would have beaten any team that night, absolutely outstanding to a man. . . . . . even Jim Bett played a blinder 😄

Let's hope so. However if the same supporters that went on Saturday go again tonight... one thing it won't be is raucous. Don't think they have got it in them. The gentrification of football continues. Never ever thought i would have to make a plea for a Hampden crowd to get behind the team, but cmon for f.. ks sake give it laldie tonight. You might even enjoy it.

Yep im with you the crowd on saturday were poor and down to i feel as others say we expect to beat likes of cyprus again, game was flat, 2pm ko meant not a lot of socialising before, lots of families due to sat afternoon etc etc. Another one that hasnt been mentioned is that now within spfl games I feel that if there is no relevant "young team/ultras" at the games then the rest just sit quietly. Most games imo rely on the young team with their flares, drum , banners and songs etc to get the atmosphere going and if they arent there then the rest of us dont do very much.

Hope tonight is different and similar to in recent past denmark/israel etc as theres no doubt it spurs our boys on.

It is weird because the atmosphere at the Ukraine game was brilliant, and that wasn't that long ago either!

It was. Hoping the Cyprus lack of atmosphere was just a blip and the support is on top form tonight. CMON SCOTLSND.

That was a blistering performance against a top side though. Similar tonight and the place will be jumping.

It was. Problem is you welcome young fans which will be the life blood of the future, but too many at once and it becomes like a family day out. Can only hope the supporters are well up for it tonight and create a raucous atmosphere. CMON SCOTLSND.

For those saying "we are due a big performance against a big team", don't forget we handled Denmark impressively about 15 months ago. If my memory is correct, that result determined our seeding for the play-offs so there was a prize on offer.

Yeah the game guaranteed a home playoff and one of the danish players afterwards said they struggled with the atmosphere. Need something similar tonight. At times on Saturday it felt like we were playing a friendly both on the pitch and with the atmosphere in the ground

The main thing that worries me about tonight is the fact that the defence weren’t tested at all on Saturday. We’ve got Porteous, Hanley and Gunn all playing in the championship, Porteous winning his 3rd cap, Gunn his 2nd….

Porteous did play well away to Ukraine, massive game for Gunn.

Would be happier with Hendry in the team, maybe McKenna as well.

Notts Forest fan I met recently said he thought McKenna too slow for the EPL.

I could be wrong but I am sure he was shortlisted for the fans player of the year in December
