Who knows what the UKG will do - but they don’t have long left before they make up their minds.

However, the Times are reporting that they will ensure that Scottish GRCs are not valid in England.   At least that would mean that they are not sticking their oar into the jurisdictional area of the Scottish Parliament.   It does however pose a few interesting questions.

The UKG maintains a list of countries whose GRCs - or equivalent - that they recognise.  This list was last updated in 2011 and there are 8 countries on it that have adopted a similar system to Scotland - will they also stop recognising those?

It would also mean that they would be treating Scotland as a foreign country - which is very interesting indeed.

Indeed. All totally sane and liberal countries and the subsequent governments and sub-societies in those countries have continued on without any implosions.

How many of those similar systems were introduced by the bad, bad SNP though? Which is probably the most important issue here. 😉

He's always been an arsehole, even back in 2012 when the whole indy movement was kissing his backside.

There are a lot of slimey grifters out there who have co-opted the independence movement to make careers for themselves. We need to keep our eyes open for the Nathalie McGarrys and Vonnie Moyes/leclercs or whatever her name was if this world who are in it for nothing more than raising their profile and making money.

Funny as fuck that the UK government is not going to recognise Scottish trans certificates!  Clearly the Scottish government has no jurisdiction south of the border.

To be fair, did it ever?

The longer this goes on the more it looks like a setup. It was always going to be a vexed issue for many, now a segment of independence supporters are being put in the invidious position of siding with a government they don't believe in to defeat a policy they disagree with.

Another thought: we all remember how pre-devolution Scotland was used as a testbed for the poll tax. I think WM still views it this way except Scotland now has a parliament and a government that can introduce and in effect "test out" controversial or radical legislation, while WM just sit back and watch how it plays out before deciding whether or not to introduce it down south.

There's a blast from the past - an absolute crackpot, that lassie!

Amongst the many things she claimed about herself was that she'd been a victim of revenge porn, only for it to turn out that she'd posted the pics online herself. How apt that even her boobs are fake! 🤣

Oh, I think he has something else on his mind too (but I'm less and less sure that it's seeing Scottish independence happening!).

Wee Dougie will have to rip up his script for FMQs tomorrow.  Sunak said - on multiple occasions- that the NHS crisis in Scotland - as well as England and Wales - was as a result of COVID.

That’s not entirely true of course but ruins the thrust of any arguments about Scotland that he would want to make.

The numpty will probably go with the NHS though.

I watched it up until Sunak said to Flynn about Salmond and Russia Today

There is no fucking point in the SNP being at PM's Questions never mind Westminster

after throwing the north easts economy under the bus with her insane stance on the oil and gas industry,, you would think that giving the city the free port would be a no brainer, obviously not

Does the SG have any control over which places are awarded freeport status?  I thought it was a WM scheme.

yes they decide from what i have read

It’s a joint process but hey, you just crack on and blame Nicola Sturgeon because your local region didn’t get it.  Jesus, Aberdeen and the North East really know how to nurse a grievance don’t they.

Obvious Central Belt bias in awarding it to - *checks notes* - the Cromarty Firth.

And he goes with the NHS, including a lie which NS refutes about Greater Glasgow.
