Everything Unionists are doing now is to shore up their support for the Union

Whether it's producing fake polls regarding support for the Union after the Queen's death and letting the MSM run with it or this action by the SFA

It's a win win for them - if it is impeccably observed then we are all wee Unionists at heart

If it is disrupted the London media will have a field day with the small number of Nats that did it

The SFA is one of the biggest Unionist cabal's there is and they realised long ago that the success of the Scottish National Team can have a bearing on Independence which is why our game is in the state it is

Its not really surprising. We(scotland)are a country that has a monarchy and until we grow a set and vote for republic then this kind of thing is to be expected.

Even when we get independence, I doubt you would get a party with a pro-Republic stance getting into a position of power for many decades that would see a vote being put through.

Yeh thats maybe true but i think it would be less than decades before we would choose to have a vote on it. I also think a well run left wing party with an anti monarchy manifesto would be popular in an indy scotland.

Saying that we currently have to accept that ppl in scotland like the monarchy and are unwilling to remove them as head of state. Until that happens then this kind of nonense is to be expected.

The only party in Scotland in parliament just now that has any major views on doing away with the monarchy is the Green's.

The SNP is very much a case of they will remain head of state in a Independent Scotland, but with the footnote that it would ultimately be down to a independent Scotland to decide upon that once the time comes.

If that's their plan it's the only one that's worked for years 🤔

Yeh i think most nationalists understand that pushing a republic as well as independence is a non starter. If we cant get a majority for indy right now then a republic is just a pipe dream for now. Thats why a 'pro royalist party' like the snp gets in. I say pro royalist but i think most snp supporters are anti monarchy but like the nationalist movement they understand that a republic is currently unattainable.

In an indy scotland i think the idea of a republic would quickly grow in strength especially if its part of a socialist governments manifesto. I cant see it being decades before we vote on it, its sonething that will be discussed alot imo.

Ha, that gave me a giggle too.

Either a joke or batshit crazy.

There are more outlandish conspiracy theories that millions believe in

The lack of investment and infrastructure we have put into our National game compared to the likes of other smaller nations is embarrassing

Cack handed by SFA.  Loads of people aren't going to clap so it will be a shambles. Feel sorry for the players. As people have said those who want to show their respects have had opportunity, plenty of opportunity.

It’s not the people not clapping that will be the problem. It will be the boos and maybe even some banners that make the headlines.

I don't see why Scotland games should have forced tributes to monarchies or politicians or social causes unconnected to football.

I agree in principle but as the Queen was patron of the SFA you could argue she was connected to football.

I don’t recall seeing her on the train from Mount Florida to Glasgow Central at any point in my 30 odd years of supporting Scotland right enough.

Hope there won't be any fannies trying to start up a round of GSTK.

Anyone who tries that should be told in no uncertain terms to shut the fuck up.

Absolutely no chance of that happening surely? I can see worse than people being told to shut the fuck up happening if it does.
